It was so accidental I made sure I had a camera ready to go

thedirtyknapkin ,

you’ve never pulled your phone out and snapped a quick picture? hell,i think most people would already have it in their hand when eating alone these days

littlecolt ,

It’s even faster if you have a gesture set up to open the camera app. I dunno why people get so suspicious of people being able to snap a picture quickly these days. It’s a simple practiced skill.

Duamerthrax ,

That’s called a phone nowadays.

Why did Fajo believe data couldn’t kill? We see data blasting baddies all the time

_stranger_ , to startrek in [DISCUSSION] In TNG's "The Most Toys" (s3e22), did Data lie about firing the disruptor?

Data’s the science officer. He could probably build a phaser from scrap blindfolded. Him saying maybe “something” happened during transport is clearly a deflection. I bet he thought about this moment when he discovered Lore and all Lore had done.

Cagi , to startrek in [DISCUSSION] In TNG's "The Most Toys" (s3e22), did Data lie about firing the disruptor?

Anyone who thinks he didn’t fire with the intention to kill Fajo needs to go back to English class and learn how to read some basic literature. It’s like the end of the Sopranos. People’s wishes for happy endings and perfect Hollywood stories blind then to the work the writers went through to tell you (rather obviously, there isn’t much room for debate among people who know how to interpret stories) that yes, Data can kill an unarmed man in the right circumstances, or yes, Tony Soprano’s brains are splattered all over his family. It’s not a happier story but it’s a better one with actual meaning and has a more lasting impact.

ummthatguy OP ,

I believe that Data has it in him to make that decision, I’m mostly calling out the ambiguity of the scene as it played out. And yeah, Tony met a gruesome but earned end.

I gave up on fitted sheets. I sleep with 1 corner untucked fitted sheet the entire time. If I fix it it’s just going to come out next time I move. I don’t care enough to try to staple it to my bed or something.

In this horrible summer heat, there are few feelings more satisfying than a fridge-cold beer after a long day of work. But it’s hard to stop after the first.

Data: “Perhaps something occurred during transport, Commander”

Riker: “Like what?”

Data: “Like I tried to shoot the motherfucker but you beamed me away too quick.”

I used to have this problem. I got some clips for the sheets and it stopped happening. So if this happens to you and you are annoyed by it you can consider getting some. They are called something like “sheet fasteners” or something

They look like this:

Can we stop wasting food on unfunny memes?

jewbacca117 ,

What are you talking about this is peak comedy right here

Makabee ,

I’m sure they took the cars off and just ate the banana, but I agree for other memes

henfredemars ,

That’s like peeling the rind from the brie and just throwing it away.

I’ll eat your cars if you don’t want em

So I’m a total pet-drug-pusher. I had a cat who seriously jonesed for breve (half-and-half) so I gave her a milliliter a day. My dog today needs peanut-butter like it’s the ambrosia of the gods. It’s a small treat every once in a while.

Out of respect for your friends of fur, allowing them a small dose might enhance their enjoyment of life a bit, especially since we are social beings who enjoy sharing a meal with each other. And unlike half-and-half, cats can actually digest tuna.

ArmoredThirteen ,

I trained my cat to eat plain chicken by tearing off little pieces and any time he didn’t go for it I’d make sure he watched me eat a little. Do that, offer him the other half of the piece I ate, repeat a few times. Now he knows whenever there is a new food if I’m trying to give it to him and I take little bites that he should try it too. It’s a lot of fun

altima_neo ,
@altima_neo@lemmy.zip avatar

My cats are dum though. I’ll crack open a can of tomatoes and they freak out thinking it’s dinner time. I let them sniff it, but then they look confused.

Same when I’m getting some Tums. They think it sounds like greenies.
