[Saved before deleting from Reddit] This post is based on Reddit post but adopted to my experience. ROM will be able to pass BASIC SafetyNet Attestation: working most(~95% as of now) banking apps, Google Pay; Google Contants Cloud Sync will work as expected; applications that do not support Magisk overlays will still work. For...
I'm starting to get tired of people talking about Reddit on Lemmy. I personally don't care about Reddit anymore and am not interested in Reddit news....
I can’t seem to find anything in a sidebar or sticky thread that talks about the moderation / rules of the news community. I’m very interested in coming to this community to learn about news, but right now it seems whats being posted tends to be relatively low (lower?) quality....
At least for the next few years, I am pretty firm on needing a jack on my device....
If you are willing and able to help moderate this community feel free to reach out in the comments below!...
Microsoft’s documentation for revoking user access from Azure AD currently references cmdlets from the AzureAD PowerShell module, which will be deprecated on June 30th....
Just thought I’d share this since it’s working for me at my home instance of federate.cc, even though it’s not documented in the Lemmy hosting guide....
Whew, 2023 ain’t even close to done yet.
Beyond spez (and the fact that he is a greedy little pig boy), I’m curious about the corporate dynamics that prevent a company like Reddit from being profitable. From an outside perspective, they make hundreds of millions per year via advertising, their product is a relatively simple (compared to industries that need a lot of...
Then I went straight back to sleep....
We know what causes magnetic fields and we know what their effects are, but what actually are they? What does it mean for them to be composed of “lines of force”? What is the mechanism of that force? What is actually going on in a magnetic field that the space outside of a magnetic field lacks?
Disclaimer: I am just a random stranger on the internet who likes uBlock Origin, read a handy comment, and figured out how to press F12. I am by no means a webpage expert, and these changes may have unintended consequences...
I started moving from Reddit to Lemmy a few days ago, and since then I’ve been forcing myself to spend time here and getting myself used to it. I quickly checked the list of popular instances and decided to join lemmy.world and not beehaw because I didn’t like their decision of defederating other big lemmy instances....
(inspired by a question on reddit, I’ll post a reply too)
Just in case you didn't know ... she's on mastodon, has probably been here longer than you, and is active (she once actually replied to me!!!!!)....
Why YSK: DON’T bring it somewhere to ‘save’ it unless it’s in immediate danger - you’re probably just kidnapping it from its mom. People find baby deer or rabbits with no parents nearby and think they’re abandoned, so they bring them to shelters to try to “save them”. In reality they’re just forcibly separating...
I’m pretty close with this person outside of work and we used to have good non-work conversations but now I feel all I get is stories and photos of her children. We work in a tight knit team so I can’t really avoid them....
What do you have, what do you recommend, and why?...
For context, if you are shy or uncomfortable having your pictures taken, please reconsider! My uncle passed away due to cancer a few years ago and we realized that he didn’t like his pictures taken… So now all we have to remember him by are a handful of pictures.
I’ve been backing up to a dedicated hard disk within the same server for all my backups in case my disks fail. And as I run more and more services, the concern of disks failures grow bigger....
I’m self-hosting the docker containers and I noticed the pictrs directory is steadily growing because of the cached images. Does anyone know if it gets cleaned up automatically or are hosters running scripts to clean it up after a certain amount of time? The install guides make no mention of it from what I can find.
Anyone know her 40 yard dash time?
