3D SBS Rip-Encodes
Ahoy mateys, I’ve sailed the docs and rode the forums but I need some help on how best to rip and encode a 3D BRD. I’ve managed to use ffmpeg to create a kind of SBS video but it’s wrong and there’s a green bar between the feeds. What is the magic sauce I’m missing? Makemkv is what I used to rip....
Anyone having issues with Lemmy self hosting?
My main account is [email protected]. However, as of roughly 24-hours ago (it seems this has been going on since March 10th and gotten worse since) it seems like the server has stopped properly retrieving content from lemmy.world....

Do you organize the order of your groceries in the checkout line?
I’m just wondering what the title asks: do you organize your groceries in the order you will check them out, if doing self-checkout, or arrange them on the belt/counter in a standard checkout line, in the hope that they’ll be bagged in a specific way?...

Does anyone know of a half-way decent FOSS alternative to Kega Fusion?
To start off, I just want to say that Kega Fusion is a wonderful emulator for pre–Sega Saturn emulation. However, the fact that it is not open-source concerns me. What if something happens and the person is required to take it down? (Not likely after 14 years but still…) Or hell they just decide to take it down for whatever...

Install Linux distros without grub??
I use rEFInd as my boot manager and sometimes I like to dual boot a new linux distro (just to try out) which I install with a live USB. Unfortunately, after installing, GRUB has always taken the reigns and it becomes a slight inconvenience to get back to rEFInd every time....
Do you still get the "it's Friday!" feeling?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I don’t have to go to work for a few days. But I don’t quite get the same excitement for the weekend that I used to. I hope that you do! If so, how do you cultivate that feeling?

What file formats, technologies, techniques do you think would benefit most people by being more common? Or that people would benefit by being more aware of?

Simple sales and expense tracker software

"Unlock with Patreon"-Button bypass
Hey everyone. Is it possible to bypass these “Unlock with patreon” stuff on external sites? Somebody recognized that their stuff was posted to kemono and started hosting his own site where you have to log into your Patreon account and buy his sub. Is it possible to bypass this “DRM”, if you can call it that or am I...

Should I learn Docker or Podman?
Hi, I’ve been thinking for a few days whether I should learn Docker or Podman. I know that Podman is more FOSS and I like it more in theory, but maybe it’s better to start with docker, for which there is a lot more tutorials. On the other hand, maybe it’s better to straight up learn podman when I don’t know any of the...
