I m thinking about reading a book from Kafka....
Many websites ask for permissions to send you push notifications in your browser. Does anyone actually use it? Does anyone find it convenient? Is it something you’d implement in your website?
I’ve seen discussion about China and all things Chinese on Reddit, and have noticed it can often end up being based more in emotion or tribalism than objective facts and analysis. Since we’re no longer on Reddit, let’s use the transition as an opportunity for turning over a new leaf.
Like does content get mirrored to my instance and then mine distributes it ala BitTorrent or is my instance it’s own thing?
EDIT/UPDATE: I have determined the issue is with my wifi and/or bluetooth! Disabling them in the bios fixed the issue. I’ll have to look later into how I can get them working properly....
First of all, I’m sorry if this isn’t the best place to post this; but I’m not aware of any more general tech support / PC building / ASUS forums here that I could post this to instead....
Please let me know when we get there! We can do this!...
Telegram Web, wefwef and Outlook (for work) are doing a fantastic job running on my iPhone SE. Do you think PWA on mobile are the future? Developers could get around the 30% cut for in-App-purchases and publish apps not even allowed in large appstores. Companies could sell phones with alternate operating systems and their users...
So, couple years ago i started to learn about tech, programming and self hosting services thanks to redditors ( not reddit the evil corp ), and found lots of communities where they pointed me to good resources but then ended up allocating more time to learning programming to switch career into that field and finally got it....

Here we go, I guess! Babby’s first Lemmy post.
I have a server I can use for hosting “stuff”. I want to add containers to host and help with the fediverse load balancing. Lemmy is a pain so if anyone has a simple docker yaml, could you share? And pixelfed is really cool so anyone know how to dockerize it and share it’s yaml? Cheers friends!
Hi Frens,...
When I'm driving with the phone is a dashboard mount, everything else on the phone is super slow and laggy. To the point where if something doesn't work via voice control, I'm afraid to do it manually like when stopped at a red light, in case I can't switch back to navigation before I need to make a turn. Google Maps on OnePlus...
I followed your instruction to have it shipped from a Walmart in Louisiana for some reason, but thanks Lemmy!

I enjoyed learning about ancient Greece in the past and this seemed manageable (under 300 pages), so I read it over the course of this last week....
Does anyone know if Lemmy automatically strips exif data from images posted?...
I recently sort of came into realizing I’m a demisexual, and was wanting to see about if there are any books about people’s experiences as demisexual or asexual or similar....
Hello guys,...
Maybe it’s that first PUBG victory, or becoming a Grand Champion on Rocket League. Maybe it’s the time you got passed that awfully difficult level, or the time you actually got around to finishing your backlog....
It started off with an employee sending an email to a distribution list called “Bedlam DL3” asking to be taken off the list. With 13,000 recipients and everyone replying all with, “Me too!” and other messages, it was estimated that over 15 million messages were sent through the system in an hour. This crashed the MTA...
For too long imo, piracy had become a “grab it all” environment. The old “Caring is Sharing” mantra seems to have disappeared. So maybe, this Lemmy could revert back 20-30 years to become a real sharing community. IDK.
