I have an old laptop that I want to turn into a server, but I want it to be as seamless as possible. I don’t have any knowledge in web hosting, so I’ll use whatever distribution makes it easiest....

Hi everyone, first time posting since the Reddit went nuclear on sanity. With the advent of Lemmy, I finally got around to booting my home-server back up and stood up my own instance :)...
I have a pi zero laying around and I have no use for it as of now. I was wondering if I could host a matrix server on it, I worry it might just not be powerful enough as the title would imply.
Edit: I think I hit a lot of nerve on some people but here is my thinking, a cancer acts like a single cell because the very first cell stops functioning with the benefit of the host it’s more into itself. I can’t change ISPs because I live in a functional monopoly and this is the only provider with reasonable data rates. Is there anything I can do to share? Thanks in advance!

Don’t worry yourself: Meta can, will, and is already scraping all of your data from the past and the future. They may not be able to see...
