natecox , to linux in What do people think of the supernote nomad?
@natecox@programming.dev avatar

I have the nomad, and I love it. I use it every day for taking meeting notes and it hasn’t let me down yet.

Their current OS is android based (I think) and works fine, but I am excited about a Linux version replacing it.

boredsquirrel , to linux in why can't I connect to my ssh server UNLESS I enter eval "$(ssh-agent -s)" first?
@boredsquirrel@slrpnk.net avatar

I have no idea why but ssh seems to not use keys with different names by default

dysprosium OP ,

can you expand on that? What do you mean different names? My PC has of course a different username than the server I’m connecting to. The label name at the end of the key is just a comment, so this is also not what you’re referring to, I think.

boredsquirrel ,
@boredsquirrel@slrpnk.net avatar

By default the key is named id.rsa and ssh-client may only load that. Or none at all. Very strange

furry , to linux in why can't I connect to my ssh server UNLESS I enter eval "$(ssh-agent -s)" first?
@furry@furry.engineer avatar

@dysprosium ssh agent manages your ssh keys and automatically passes them as an identity when connecting to a server

If you want to connect without it, you can simply pass -i <path to private key> flag

dysprosium OP ,

okay I tried that, using -i to specify private key. I get the same thing: blank / blinking cursor. When I use verbose -v flag, I see that in BOTH cases (I see about 50 lines) it ends with these two lines:

debug1: Offering public key: /home/username/.ssh/id_rsa RSA SHA256:j3MUkYzhTrjC6PHkIbre3O(etc) agent
debug1: Server accepts key: /home/username/.ssh/id_rsa RSA SHA256:j3MUkYzhTrjC6PHkIbre3OT(etc) agent

where (etc) is some redacted text. It seems the server is ACCEPTING the key, which is nice. But then it’s still a blinking cursor…

@dysprosium Mind trying with -vvvv flag and sharing the output instead of -v?

Prism launcher is pretty sweet but its very barebones. If you want “features” (mods) like badlion comes pre-installed with you’ll have to add them yourself, but its very simple to do.

Bonus that prism launcher is developed by hella queer folks!

threelonmusketeers , to fediverse in Current best lemmy clients

I’ve tried Boost, Connect, Eternity, Jerboa, Liftoff, Summit, Sync, Thunder, and Voyager.

My favourites are Eternity and Thunder. Eternity is the only app I’ve found with “swipe between posts” navigation. Thunder has the best remote instance link handling, and its tools for inserting usernames and community names are better than even the Lemmy web UI.

Ideally you can change periodically. But for me, the gloves are better than the alternative! I use hand treatment after work. I have (mild) eczema but don't generally suffer. You gotta find what works for you!

Nate Silver still has the EVs for Trump. Like he did in 2016. I’m making no illusions of the future. All my plans assume a Trump victory.

Unfortunately his models are paywalled so I cannot completely confirm this.
