ITT: ppl who take jokes too serious.

Spezi OP ,

Yes, this was just a meant to small dig about these debates beeing stupid and pointless, especially on a memes subreddit.

People are taking this way too serious. Proves my point of the original post not fitting a memes subreddit.

TheRealKuni , to asklemmy in I've just been introduced to Taco Bell. What should I be trying?

Breakfast.

People laughed about it when they announced that they were doing breakfast, but I love to try weird foods so I thought I’d give it a shot.

No joke, the Steak Breakfast Crunchwrap is my favorite piece of fast food breakfast. And (I’m mildly ashamed to admit) I’ve eaten A LOT of fast food breakfast in my life. It’s especially good if you ask for extra creamy jalapeño sauce.

Pretty much any time I have to be somewhere early in the morning these days—I’ve become quite lazy in my permanent work-from-home schedule—I motivate myself with Taco Bell breakfast.

ICastFist , to linux in What Linux distro surprised you the most?
@ICastFist@programming.dev avatar

Kurumin Linux, which was a Brazilian distro based on Knoppix. This was back in 2006 or so, and that was my first hands-on experience with Linux.

I don’t fully remember whether everything worked out of the box, I think it connected to the internet no problem (cable), but what amazed me was:

1 - It ran off the CD drive without needing to install anything 2 - It had loads of preinstalled utility software 3 - Less than 700MB

HubertManne , to piracy in is there is a list like FMHY, but for free stuff only without piracy?

I would love this. Not only would it be great to have a central point but often times their search is bad. Even intentionally so. Like crunchyroll makes it impossible to see whats available to a free account. You end up having to roam around until you get frusted and realize plex, freevee, pluto, tubi, roku, etc has a pretty good selection with less runaround.

agamemnonymous , to nostupidquestions in How do you set up wake up alarm and not miss it ?
@agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works avatar

I use a smart alarm app. It uses your mic to track your breathing, and uses that information to identify when you’re in deeper and lighter phases of sleep. You set a range of time for the alarm, and when it detects you coming out of a deep cycle it starts the alarm. I’ve always slept through alarms, and this works like a dream.

Just pay for BitWarden maybe? It’s cheap.

Self hosting has the advantage of keeping your encrypted vault local and under your control.

Double Beefy Crunch Burrito. If it’s made right, goddamn those hit the spot every time.

Other than that, try a Baja Blast freeze if they have them.

hamsterkill , to technology in What is your favorite web browser? (Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.)

Firefox everywhere. It’s not perfect, but is still the closest a browser gets.

Unless I need a PWA on desktop, then Edge (windows) or ungoogled chromium (linux).

tux0r ,
@tux0r@feddit.org avatar

NetSurf is closer to a browser.

hamsterkill ,

NetSurf is a very barebones browser. It can fill a niche, but is not a daily driver where other options are available.

@tux0r@feddit.org avatar

Which is not the case on Plan 9.

chottomatte , (edited ) to asklemmy in How do you say "[you have the] wrong number" in your language?
@chottomatte@lemdro.id avatar

Instead of memorizing different phrases in different languages , a good advice would be to change your number if posible , or use a blocker to block strange numbers

acetanilide OP ,

I appreciate it, but I can’t do either unfortunately since I have medical issues and need to answer many unknown numbers.

Also makes it easy to add offsite backups via the Proxmox Backup Server in the future.

If you think it’s the filesystem try running fsck. It sounds like a failing storage device to me but there’s not nearly enough information to say for sure

gregor OP ,

Could this possibly result in the loss of data? If so, what’s a simple way to do a backup of an entire disk?

explore_broaden ,

fsck almost certainly isn’t going to cause loss of data, but it will likely inform you about a loss that already occurred if that is the issue you are having.
