anyone else miss how you used to be able to simply set all the colors and fonts for things yourself? And it was easy. It wasn’t just light theme or dark theme and those are your only two options, but really whatever you want.
Maybe use the image drive option in Reflect instead? It’s easy to restore the image later by booting from USB.
Otherwise I believe there’s a tool to change the uuid, but I’d be a bit nervous of having two near identical drives online in case the OS gets confused and puts some things in the wrong spot.
The OS does not get confused once it is up and running. I had some fun times initially where I could not figure out which bootloader was loading which install. It was actually the hard disk based original bootloader that was being used even if the OS loaded from M2 SSD. After figuring this out, I changed the UUID using some Linux tool. Now there is no confusion.
To avoid this in future, I want to keep the partitions UUID intact, while only reflecting the contents. This is probably not possible with free versions of Macrium etc.
We do in some cases, you’ve basically described hot coca for instance. But yeah, you might be onto something, roast up some kidney beans and see what happens.
Just to piggyback on this. The simple truth is that lot of things are just called things because they resemble other things, either in form or function.
Coffee is not a bean; beans come from legumes, coffee fruit seeds are roughly bean sized and shaped.
Cacao and vanilla are also not legumes.
The peanut is a legume like beans and peas, but the it’s fruit treated like a culinary nut.
Cashews are not true nuts. They Grow outside the actual fruit.
Nut milk and butter do not come from mammary glands.
Tea is made for the leaves of the tea plant (Camellia sinensis), which is a shrub or small tree, but many infusions of dried plant matter are often referred to as teas. As a person with a full time job, a significant other, and several hobbies, I just don’t have time to invest in learning a new operating system. I grew up with windows (95, 98, xp, 7, 10), so that’s what I’m familiar with. I recently switched to linux (mint), and it’s fine. Just getting started though is something that was rather involved, and I would never expect a normie to be able to figure out. If microsoft wasn’t insisting on making win11 a dumpster fire, I wouldn’t have bothered. Now that things are running smoothly, there’s some minor annoyances that I’d really like to change, and the prevailing sentiment from the linux community is “that’s just how linux is” or sometimes “here’s a hacky workaround that barely works in only certain controlled cases”. It’s better than it was 10 years ago, so there is that.

That’s fair. I got turned on to Linux in college so this is how I feel when confronted with Windows or Mac devices. I just get so frustrated every time I try, and it doesn’t seem like the end result is worth it if I can just stick with what works and not have to worry about some random update radically and inexorably altering how my computer works.
I switched when the learning curve of navigating changes to settings menus and how to save files on my local drive became steeper than learning a new OS altogether.
Arch Linux on the way to the store and I can get it to you tomorrow morning and I’ll be there in about an hour or so but I can do it tomorrow or tomorrow morning.
I’d go rob the people that made my entire 20’s and 30’s into indentured student loan servitude for exactly the dollar figure they stole from me plus the insane interest that they tacked onto it because they owned politicians who eliminated all avenues that I could’ve used to get out of that contract.
