nokturne213 , to fediverse in What made everyone move to Bluesky or Threads instead of Mastodon?

Initially I heard about mastodon as a Reddit alternative, it was not. I have never been a Twitter user. I did create a Twitter account at some point, I only ever used it to post images from when I was at occupy Wall Street, and then later to follow a couple accounts for updates (Sean Murray of Hello Games). When I opened my own business I created a Twitter account for that specifically and used it to send out coupon codes and stuff like that.

Once musk bought Twitter I deleted both of my accounts. I had totally forgotten about mastodon, so I got on the list for a Bluesky code. Around the time I got my Bluesky code I heard about Lemmy, and then heard about mastodon again. Had my Bluesky code not arrived when it did, I would have created a mastodon account for my business instead of Bluesky. Since I never use either it is a moot point for me.

Nope, I’ve had it argue with me, and I kept arguing my point but it kept disagreeing, then I realized I was wrong. I felt stupid but I learned from it.

Do you have a couple of machines or is your pc pretty good. Get into containerisation VMS, docker start running some self hosted services.

Honestly found the rdr2 story forgettable, had a lot of fun with the individual missions though. I dont expect a great story from gta6, just a massive open world with lots of stuff going on.

I think it’d be safe to expect a very well crafted depiction of Florida. A lively sandbox just brimming with weird shit.

For sure. It’ll leave the likes of 2077 and Starfield in the dust, and it’ll be performant without the need of TAA or other patchwork bullshit.

I’d be curious if they stick to Vulkan on PC since RDR2 later defaulted to it.

This is so believable. You copy a few examples out of a textbook using cout and cin and it seems reasonably inline with other languages.

arandomthought , to linux in I legitimately want to run Linux as my desktop OS, please tell me how to meet my requirements.

Full disclosure: I ran manjaro as a daily driver for a while a few years back bad have been forced back on windows as well by company policy. So I’m not going to be the ultimate authority to answer your questions.
All I wanted to comment is that with iTunes and Office you have picked two pieces of software by two companies that have a very strong interest in not letting you migrate away from them. I tried to migrate my gf’s password manager from the iCloud one to bitwarden and it’s amazing the hoops they make you jump through to get at your data. So what you might be experiencing right now is a thing called “vendor lock”, and I wish you the best of luck for finding a way out. ;)

    realitista OP ,

I’m fully capable of escaping vendor lock. I’m technical and persistent and have switched platforms at least 5-6 times in the past. I’ve run just about every desktop operating system that has existed since the '80s. The only things that are holding me on Mac are the specific features I’ve mentioned.

To All Who Question the Science:

For those who ask, “Where is the science?” Let me clarify: it’s all in the statistics. Numbers don’t lie, and they tell us more than just facts—they reveal patterns, truths, and sometimes, the inevitable consequences of certain behaviors.

You see, statistics is the science that shows us trends and outcomes, and one of those curious trends is that many blacks end up behind bars. It’s not just a coincidence; it’s a statistical reality.

So, next time someone questions the science, remind them: the numbers have already spoken
