So I deleted the story before I posted it, and began to realize that even though Iâm 40, and should be past all this, it still hurts, and Iâm a deeply broken person.
The thing about trauma (and it likely is trauma) is that it often just doesnât go away on its own and you need to do work on it. So, why should you be over it?
Should is a loaded word as it pretty much always comes from what you learned as a child. You should do that. You should be like this.
That âshouldâ probably comes from your father when he told you how you should be as a child.
It sounds like you arenât over it now, but thatâs ok. Itâs ok not to be over stuff that happened in childhood. But the important thing to understand is that you can get over it with work. Being aware of that is the first step on that road.
Yes, of course thatâs allowed. Be aware that if youâre name of not on the lease or deed that your mother can kick you out though. Depending on where you live you may have less rights if you arenât paying rent. In the US it doesnât matter if youâre paying rent and theyâd have to go through a formal eviction process. While of hope your mother wouldnât kick you out for going on a date, the situation already seems extreme. But yes, youâre legally allowed to do this.
A basket of fries allows for maximum malt vinegar distribution without spilling into other foods. Thatâs not how I eat fries often, but with the right fries and environment itâs the best.
When i was 4 or 5, i had a Tender Heart carebear that i LOVED. I took it everywhere with me. One of my first memories ever is my dad calling it âslender fartâ to the point of me bawling my eyes out. He has never accepted that this fucked me up in a very deep way. The person i looked up to for protection was hurting me. For fun. Iâm in my 40s now, and anything i start to develop an interest in, even to this day, comes with a sense of dread. âHow can this be used against me?â
Irony of ironies, my dad now has in inoperable brain tumor. Iâve basically retired early and moved back in with my parents in order to be around if they ever need anything, which is every day. Itâs crossed my mind more than once to return the favor and fuck with his addled old brain, but then, would i be any better than him? No, that misery he tried to breed in me stops and dies with me.
Under a federation the subdivisions arenât just âconvenient unitsâ, they should be able to behave in their own interest. And when the interests of different units conflict, they got to solve it some way.
Suing each other might look like a waste of money, but itâs less wasteful than the alternatives, and still respects the principles of a federation (as having the central government dictating it out of the blue deprives the states of agency).
For reference, a century ago my homeland (ParanĂĄ) was disputing area with another state (Santa Catarina), even if both are controlled by the same federation (Brazil). The legal dispute lasted so long that it enabled a civil war, since neither side was properly supporting the population dislodged by a railway company.
Thereâs this pretty handy script me and folks around use for numbers, we call it Arabic numerals, even if the Arabs call them âhindian numeralsâ. Theyâre pretty handy. Beats roman numerals at everything but looking classy!
Jokes aside, hope people say which language theyâre talking about. Mine, Portuguese, doesnât really have alternate script as far as I know, unless you you count the old mobile phone shortened typing as such
I was talking with respect to modern, constructed writing system. Hindu-Arabic numeral system were borrowed from the Brahmi numeral system almost a few thousand years ago.
