Yeah, and NYC’s cost of living is going to make that the case for a higher percentage of people. These initiatives are really targeting middle and lower income people outside of cities.

Sounds like you’re in that uncomfortable spot where you need to pay to do your taxes but it’s probably not worth it to pay an accountant. Paid software is probably ideal for you, but I personally wouldn’t use TurboTax out of principle just because of how obsessively they lobby to keep the system like this.

As someone who loves super spicy foods:

Heat doesn’t alter flavor. Capsaicin itself is flavorless, so if you just take a food and add capsaicin extract, it’ll increase the heat without changing flavor.

However, IMO there’s no point in doing that unless you’re trying to win a challenge. Most of us get capsaicin from peppers, and each pepper has a unique flavor that can add a lot of nuance to a dish.

Plus, I enjoy the heat sensation and am highly tolerant, so I can eat high heat foods and enjoy them. I would not recommend a spice-naive person start out on super hots.

Nah, if you’re on LTS, the recommended upgrade is at XX.04.1, which typically comes around July. And 22.04 doesn’t go end of life until April of 2027, so there’s no mad rush to upgrade if you’re happy.

State’s rights has always been disingenuous. Back when the Southern states were using it as a shield to own literal slaves, they took a break from their precious state’s rights long enough to demand other states send their escaped slaves back to them, before harping on state’s rights again.

Yes, they’re pretty benign. They do have the potential to decrease bone mineralization a little (calcium doesn’t build up in the bones as well,) but generally not enough to be a huge deal in the grand scheme of things.

From a doctor’s point of view, this is like fretting over whether to take ibuprofen for your headache: sure, there’s theoretically a potential for harm, but not to the extent that it’s a serious consideration.
