snooggums , to nostupidquestions in I grew up in the era of Photoshop and people would post fake nudes. Why is it now a big deal that AI is doing it? Kinda like the Taylor Swift thing on twitter.

In addition the the reduced skill barriers mentioned, the other side effect is the reduced time spent finding a matching photo and actually doing the work. Anyone can create it in their spare time, quickly and easily.

This is, in fact, quite metal

Eat cat food until I feel sick and go to sleep before the cat fights start.

AI is much better. Photoshop was always a little off with size, angle, lighting, etc. Very easy to spot fakes.

Don_Dickle OP ,

Not that I watch the morons but how come it seems that the Kardashians are so fond of it?

someguy3 ,

I know nothing about the Kardashians.

Don_Dickle OP ,

Neither do I just that I see headlines of like photoshop fails when the publish pictures and it is really obvious.

Flyberius , to asklemmy in How to deal with being bald?
@Flyberius@hexbear.net avatar

As a long time balding man, shave it all off with clippers, then go at it with a razor ever few days. Never look back. It’s a good look. I love it.

Plus my scalp looks like a chopping block with the number of times I’ve busted my head on something and I think the scars look sort of cool. 😎

  • easy for anyone to do it
  • easy to do it at scale

It’s the best self-hosting software I’ve used. But it lacks mountains of documentation, configuration, file manager, terminal, and no way to create containers WITHOUT exposing them to the web.

Also some of their software becomes badly dated (like Lemmy).

But for the most part it’s super easy deployment for stuff you want exposed.

possiblylinux127 , to selfhosted in Which is better for my network, an extender or another router?

You could break the network into parts. Start with a upstream router and then get a switch and some access points.

You will have a much better time

terminhell , to selfhosted in Which is better for my network, an extender or another router?

If it’s just one or two rooms ya need wired up, but don’t wanna run the copper? There are options. If you have any old coax drops in them there’s adapters you can attach and just reuse the old coax. OR you could look into a power line adapter. Basically it uses the house electrical lines (in the wall) to create a connection.

BeefBeeferson OP ,

I appreciate that, I could try out the coax bit, power line adapters were more miss for me when I tried that out previously. Thanks for the idea

Etterra , to asklemmy in How does one realistically sell their large video game collection?

Okay, first you need to establish what’s valuable and what’s vendor trash. You’ll need to research that. Single out anything valuable and set it aside. The rest just dump as a job-lot on eBay (or divide it up into chunks and do the same thing. If they don’t sell, there’s always the pawn shop.

List the valuable games individually. Like any good auction house, charge slightly less than anyone else that’s also selling them. The key to moving merch is always undercut, undercut, undercut. If the competition lowers their prices, adjust to compensate.

Finally, ignore the price you originally paid for them. It means literally nothing now. Resale value is determined exclusively by demand, and if there’s zero demand, them you might as well give it away or even just recycle it.

yuuunikki OP ,

Ironically I’ve never paid full asking price for any of my stuff. I’ve always either been lucky or found amazing deals
