I don’t miss a thing about reddit. I was using the platform for about 9 years and the whole debacle about who gets to profit off our content resulted in me moving to something less shitty. SO far, Lemmy has proven to be what the internet was before big corporations took over and I will stay here. I just started donating to the patreon for lemmy.world (or rather mastadon.world, but same dev) and I intend on staying here. I like the engagement so far and hope that the community sticks with this platform. Thanks to reddits malarkey I was introduced to the fediverse and for that I am thankful

In saying that, I have missed the abundance of content. In saying that, Lemmy has grown in order of magnitudes since I got here a few weeks ago. And after the June 30 API cut, I think this place will jump in users.
I wish we could block full instances that way. I blocked 30 different communities on lemmynsfw and every time I browse /all there are 10 new ones.
Now I'm not some prude snowflake, but my use case for lemmy (as it was for reddit) is simply the polar opposite, and having to block all of those titty farms individually is frustrating.
A while back I went out of my way to acquire some used Xbox 360 games and fire up the old beast. I actually played Red Dead Redemption for the first time about a year ago. Some of those games I straight up haven’t touched, because I no longer have said console set up (and have been foraying into console emulation, which is constantly getting better)
Rsync works fine for most data. (I use borgbackup) For any database data, create a dump using pg_dump or mysqldump or whatever. Then backup the dump and all other volumes but exclude the db volume.
Denial, at least for me. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that anyone could be that stupid and eager to destroy it’s most active part of the user base…
And the fact that it’s Reddit, a Site I always preceived as community driven and kinda above those corporate shenanigans, I still have hopes some saner heads might prevail. Although that seems increasingly unlikely by the minute…
I think Motorola is definitly trending upwards and I am really considering them for future purchases. I think after the boring mediocraty they had going on from 2017-2021 they finally got back on track with the edge series.
I also have heard a lot of good things about their ready-for Desktop mode, which for me is a feature every modern phone should have!
Its either Galaxy S21/22/23, Asus Zenfone 8/9 or Sony Xperia 10 or 5 Series. Unfortunatly it doesn’t get smaller without landing firmly in gimmick phone land (like the Unihertz Jelly)
Also if don’t mind older hardware there is the really compact Sony Xperia XZ2 compact.

These are very good phones but they are not small enough for me.
The size of XZ2 compact is very nice but I hate the curved edges and back panel. I think XZ1 compact actually suits me better, but it is almost 6 years old now. I don’t think I will be able to use it for long.
