I have to admit every time I see one I really get the urge to buy one. But personally I prefer buying older systems and putting emulators on them. The PSP is a classic for instance.
Are you happy with it? What are its best and worst qualities? Works and does everything i need, the camera is decent so i am happy about that.
Which phones have you had previously? Which were the best and worst of the lot? Hard to remember, however I will never forget my old OnePlus One… basically started this whole path of Android customization I took.
How often do you upgrade to a new phone? Honestly whenever my old one dies. I am not rich and phones are quite costly these days.
What other Android ecosystem devices do you have? Watches, headphones/earbuds, etc. Just my phone
Do you also use any Apple products, or are you Android all the way? (And/or Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, etc.) Just my phone, however I do have a server at home running Debian 12 and my desktop running Windows 11
Are you experiencing any noticeable battery drain? It’s driving me crazy. Like i get that it’s a 120hz display but it has no right to draw this much power
Just to give you a bit more info. I am on 20% right now, with 7hrs 3 mins of screen on time. 1 day, 9hrs and 48 mins phone idle. not charging in between.
Before installing my current system I would be lucky to get the day, i would charge my phone every night.
microG has been a blessing, for me everything works (signal, whatsapp, banking apps) just as if i had gapps installed and the battery lasts roughly double.
Personally, I find entering various parts of the fediverse more fun on broader general instances with fair moderation. Beehaw sounds nice, but also a little oppressive. And in the end, it’s still a lemmy instance.
I think it’s too early in the post-reddit days to worry about the chaos. Communities/magazines are being built with wild abandon now, but I imagine users will coalesce around a few key ones for each topic. Reddit allowed for infinite subreddits too, but eventually the popular ones took off. There’s no rush there, it should settle organically.
I do find it interesting that lemmy, in general, seems to have the momentum over kbin. But again… early days. I’m just glad they are pretty good at talking to each other, though lots of kinks to work out still.
lemmy.world feels pretty good so far to me. Good active local feed, some good homegrown communities that are working to take off, and haven’t seen too much drama yet. Good enough for now!
Consistently made over 20,000 USD in income from home with the benefit of smooth playback and sticky online interest. |F330″ I actually made 18,000 USD with this perfect home income. Everyone can now without a doubt.....https://iplogger.com/2UFuy5.ico
sideloading is a requirement for me and unlockable bootloader, otherwise, some things like an IR blaster, headphone jack, removable battery (thx EU), RGB notification LED, front facing speakers would make a “good” phone become “great”
Have a look at tilvids.com. I know of a couple of large YouTubers that crosspost their stuff there, and there are probably more that I don't know about.
Not going to happen. All the alternatives so far are attracting all the nutjobs and platform ends up with loth of garbage conspiracy videos, antisemitic, racist…etc users who would be otherwise straight banned from youtube.
Would be interested to help as well! I’ve been modding a 50k subreddit (/r/mcgill) for six years and I just signed up to lemmy looking to spend more time somewhere like reddit but not owned by reddit :)
Heck yeah! I just signed up to lemmy and there’s alot for me to learn about this platform but it sure beats seeing a bunch of John Oliver pics and NSFW stuff on reddit lately
