TendieMaster69 , to patientgamers in FPS titles with great environmental world-building? e.g. Alien: Isolation, Metro, DOOM '16, even Portal 2 counts -- games that feel like real, lived-in places and not just a series of arenas.

Cyberpunk 2077

Quacksalber ,

Cyberpunk feels lived-in? In my experience, once the glamour of the visuals wear off, you notice how empty the world feels. The regular NPCs are completely lifeless, every location is just surface-deep and the atmosphere is severly lacking. I stood at the center of the city at a busy intersection and the most prominent sound I heard was the pedestrian traffic light. It’s just sad. You can absolutely see where they ran out of time. Locations might be wonderfully detailed, but there is nothin for you to interact with.

BloodSlut OP , to linux_gaming in [SOLVED] Lutris WINE .NET Issue During Game Installation - `Failure Processing Application Bundle`

@ShaunaTheDead @bgtlover

I got it to work!

Clearing the environment variable by adding system: env: DOTNET_BUNDLE_EXTRACT_BASE_DIR: DLLsallowed the launcher installer to properly handle the DLLs by creating a folder in the Game’s directory.

It appears that the game installs and launches fine, I’ve yet to test the actual gameplay, but that’s next.

bgtlover ,

@BloodSlut @ShaunaTheDead hohoho, a good head start! I had to clear some environment variables from time to time as well, especially when it comes to wine stuff misinterpreting some vars I thought are only for some specific programs I use, so it's not the first time such happened to me. Glad it worked for you, also glad you worked out what env var to clear.

I appreciate the help!

BeOS was the best desktop OS of its day, and from an end user POV still has features that I miss every day.

Have you tried Haiku?

I love it, though I haven’t tried using it as a daily driver in a long time. I should give it a whirl!

I prefer ebooks. I like to be able to carry my library around with me. Also, I rarely reread books so they end up collecting dust after I read them.

@SteveKLord@slrpnk.net avatar

I’m on a small pixelfed instance as well and the global feed can be useful for discovering users on other pixelfed instances and also for viewing mastodon posts with pictures. Similar to mastodon it will expand as you follow more people so keep an eye on it and maybe use your mastodon account to find more photographers using hashtags like . Your discover page should show photos under trending hashtags as well so check for that and use search under hashtags. It does show local trending photos accounts at the moment, you’re correct. Dansup, the pixelfed developer, says in the next update for the beta app which is shipping soon and going public soon, the discover page will be expanding to show trending users and photos from across the fediverse.

i3lock triggered manually with ctrl-alt-L from OpenBox. It’s a force of habit to lock it manually, so no timer necessary. I3lock is lightweight, supports a background image, and has a nice fast password prompt with support for ctrl-u etc.

Noel Edmonds. Can’t wait to see him get Yewtree’d.

Or Jeremy Vine?

Suppose we’ll find out Monday when someone doesn’t show up for work.

TheElectroness ,

Noel’s tastes are far too taboo to be simply children.

Emperor ,

The Edmonds is leading a cult aimed at cracking the skies open and manifesting the old and terrible gods who will bring about a million years of suffering. He doesn’t really have time to send videos of him in his undercrackers sitting on his sofa.
