I’ve treated them like spammers. I figure it’s best not to acknowledge that the account is actively read. But lately I’ve been toying with the idea of trying to unsubscribe from all of them en masse.
People say time and distractions and whatever else … but the only advice that ever really helped me was a line from some character on a TV show I don’t even remember:
“In my experience, to move on, you’ve actually got to move on.”
In other words… Go meet new people, get a new crush, find the greener pasture.
Perhaps someone will see them and be inspired to revitalize them.
But you are also asking for MANY judgement calls from the mods. What constitutes inactive? No posts for a week? A month? What if no one posts, but many people read them? What if a community is ‘active’ but only posts once per month? What if a community is very active, but only seasonally? What if it’s a community for people with birthdays on leap day?
Do you see how much you are asking on top of what they do already? You would have to have mods dedicated only to doing this. It isn’t worth it. Also, fuck reddit. This isn’t reddit.
If my partner calls me cute, yes, I like that. Anyone else, it's very context specific. Do I know you and like you and trust you and your opinions? Then probably yes, otherwise pretty much always no.

Don’t know anything recent, but years ago they began blocking network traffic between rows. That killed what little self hosted LAN play was still happening but kept stuff from spreading across the whole BYOC.
They’re still out there technically, but they get jankier every year. The new UI they released… last year? put the nail in the coffin for a lot of the fancy ones, but there are still options out there to skin your Steam UI.
Remember, KDR is a flawed mechanic. I’d trade a 20-2 player who farms eco rounds for a 10-12 player who gets those essential kills that win the round/match/etc.
It bugs me (no pun intended) how people in such cases readily suggest some kind of poisoning, intoxication, or mental meltdown. Hinting to numerous other comments in the thread. So, a word to all armchair psychiatrists out there, I have it on good authority that real psychiatrists first rule out whether the situation is real, then move on to delusional and paranoia explanations. Otherwise it would be very easy to conspire against a family member, poison them or get them locked up, and enjoy their fortune or sth. So it is a meme at this point, so joke is on me for responding seriously but at some point it has to be debunked. You have to rule out that the situation is not real before reach for the mental illness explanations.
I also don’t know why this 1 year old post popped into my feed, but anyway, as others report, I am curious about this “case”. Is there any resolution @FarFarAway ?
Male here. There are many contexts. If I was still in high school, and a coach says “Don’t be cute with me”, I would take it as a compliment. It would mean I was doing a good job pissing him off.
