Waterflossers are better than nothing. Best is floss to get the stuff wedged at the contact, then interdental brushes to get the stuff under the contact - these must be snug, otherwise you’re not effectively using them.
Soft and small toothbrush, preferably an electric with a pressure sensor. The counter oscillating Crest/Oral B type is probably the most affordable. Don’t need to get the top model. Some only time 2 minutes instead of 30s, so I’d recommend counting to 30 seconds (properly! Not rushing!) and do a quarter of your mouth at a time. Point at the gumline a little when you brush, approximately 45 degrees. You must push your lips and tongue out of the way. Do an extra minute after you’re done with 2 minutes. Do this at least twice daily, consider a third time during the day, and you must not skip the one just before you sleep. Do not consume anything but water after this and prior to sleep. Do not get a midnight snack.
Use neutrafluor/prevident 5000 toothpaste, or clinpro 5000. Extra fluoride means extra protection from acid challenges. Use neutrafluor mouthwash if you must use a m/w during the day. Do not rinse the paste off your teeth.
Eliminate where possible from your diet anything sour, tart, or fizzy. That includes soda water and citrus and ACV. Eliminate where possible sweet things, including fruit - especially dried fruit.
Rinse with plain water after eating and drinking.
Common triggers of heartburn are foods that may be fried, fatty, and or spicy. Some people are triggered by dairy or lactose, or eating too late before lying down.
Treat your heartburn by prevention, not relievers. If you experience any symptom relating to heartburn, rinse thoroughly with plain water. Do this too if you vomit for any reason.
If you have dry mouth, try Xylimelts or the new range Freshmelts (this doesn’t seem toxic to dogs). You can wear these during your sleep. Also treat the origin of your dry mouth.
…I’m sure I have other tips… But these are the most common ones I make to my patients.
Another “not” stupid question - about the paste, I’ve seen this before where it says don’t rinse off the teeth. Does that mean you’re supposed to brush and spit out what you can, and just leave the foaming mess in your mouth as you sleep? I’m genuinely confused.
its neat, u can get 4k 240hz out of the usb4 output. Lm sensors didnt pick up the cpu temps. It’s VERY quiet, and the drives have an active heat sink on em. The nvme drive runs at around 40C.
Been eying one for quite a while. I have read that the build quality is good too. Along with a good cooling solution.
I’m actually thinking of using it as a replacement for my desktop/gaming machine. I only play 1 or 2 games anyway. Nothing the 780m can’t handle with ease. Also planning on 24/7 operation due to the much lower wattage.
Problems with skin can be treated even without shaving. You don’t need to keep it shaved if you don’t feel good in it. Ask women, they’re used to treating their skin problems without shaving their hair off.
It’s different, but usually not better. I still check it out for some subs which here have no active users or that don’t even exist at all. But the quality of the answers and the community is much better here. I don’t know if that means the quality of answers on Reddit got worse or if the difference became apparent to me after using Lemmy.
Muffon. It’s not a Spotify Client but it does play music that comes from Spotifys library along sides Deezer etc. It’s super good imo, I don’t even have a Spotify subscription anymore due to it, cuz it’s that good, thought you can only use it on PC/Laptop atm though.
I’ve been using Hyperpipe though for a while on my phone, which has a PWA, which has been working super well since BeatBump started to not work for me, alongside teething problems with using Spotube.
There was Blackhole player too but that been dead for a long while now.
I will never, never get tired of these CHUDdy types self-reporting every time.
“It has never been shady,” commenting on a post about one of the largest scams of all time lmfao
Oh yes, it’s just as good as money, it’s a real currency and totally not vapor as long as you act as your own bank and maintain ironclad digital and physical security, never slipping up a single time. Oh and your savings (because this is a currency) are completely uninsured. Totally reasonable asks to make of an average consumer.
You don’t seem to be well aware of the inner workings of the traditional banking system you claim to like so much. What you believe to be “real” money is a lot less real than you think
Yeah but the value of my money does swing rapidly daily, and transactions process in seconds instead of minutes to hours. Oh and it’s actually accepted as a form of payment at most institutions.
Bitcoin, and all other cryptocurrencies, are securities at best and straight gambling at worst.
Instead of writing shit you have no clue about spend 10 minutes of your life learning what cryptocurrencies are. MtGox scammed people and they were a bank.
I made this app! Built it for myself and my partner because I had exactly the same problem — every other medication app seems to be built for taking something on a regular schedule.
Not sure if it’s very user-friendly, but it works well for me. There also isn’t an option for more complex rules (just max X doses every Y hours), so you’ll need to set something up that makes sense.
This is the main reason I quit. The majority of my reddit traffic for about 10 years was through a 3rd party app. Reddit taking that away was basically a big “fuck you” to all the devs that worked tirelessly to give reddit that mobile traffic. These apps were free and relied on donations or premium purchases.
That decreased my usage by 90%, but ultimately that’s not the reason i stopped using it. It’s just a shitshow with a lot of really angry people. You can rarely have a proper conversation in your communities
The title isn’t accurate, so I can’t assume it is.
Fiat currency works precisely because the planet is finite. What you’re thinking of is a currency that’s tied to a finite resource, like a gold standard. Fiat currency works precisely because monetary supply is able to be increased to keep pace with both the population and economic growth. Likewise, fiat currency can be removed from the economy when the economy shrinks (although this hasn’t happened before).
Gold isn’t finite, its supply increases every year and is the main reason for the stability in its prices. Obviously this can’t continue forever, hence the finite resources on the planet
Two things you’re assuming is fiat can be evenly distributed with population growth and at some point the issuing body will reduce excess supply, neither of these things are common practices and rarely happen
Gold is the definition of finite. There is only so much gold in the world–by which I mean the 3rd planet revolving around the sun in the solar system that we both reside in–and the only way to make more gold actually makes radioactive gold. THe fact that we haven’t discovered every last atom of it doesn’t make it any less finite.
Different infinities of a particular finite resource do not exist though. Yes, we discover more every year, but that does not make it an infinite resource. If a country was dumb enough to link their monetary supply to a resource, and then their economic growth outstripped their domestic production of that resource, they would experience deflation, id est, the money you have now would be worth more tomorrow than it is today. Periods of deflation, while rare, always have a catastrophic effect on economies, because no one wants to spend money when the value of that money is increasing. People tend to hoard their money when that happens, which rapidly leads to recession and then depression.
Your core premise is, again, flawed. You want a good way of storing ‘value’–which is a nebulous concept to start with–and then condition that premise on not using a fiat currency. Fiat currency is the best way of storing that value, and using that value at some point in the future. You could invest in stocks, bonds, money market accounts, or real estate, but that’s all still based on a fiat currency of some kine.
Value is vague on purpose, since it means that something retains its “essence” tomorrow as good or better than today. Otherwise humans would not even be able to feed themselves since the only reason I can have food in the winter is because I have something to exchange for food from places that have figured out to grow or store food. It also would be a terrible place if we worked very hard today and our returns depreciated rapidly, because there will be times when we can’t work
Sure, stocks and bonds have historically held some value, but is near impossible to out perform base inflation and has gotten worse the last 20+ years. Physical land and tangible long term goods have held up, but difficult to use for trade, hence currency
I’m pro-fiat because it works. Crypto is okay, but it’s too volatile, and has too many unknowns, to be a good investment vehicle. Crypto is only useful if you’re actively buying things. Real estate is illiquid. Gold can’t be used readily without being converted to a fiat currency; you aren’t going to be able to convince any grocery store to accept an ounce of gold in place of currency. Treasury bills and bonds nearly always outperform base inflation, even if it’s not by very much. If I’m reading things correctly, the current rate on short-term US treasury bills is about 2% over inflation. Longer term bonds tend to have higher yields. Both are lower than you could expect to get with a money market or index fund. And an index fund is going to have lower yield than a growth fund.
Almost everything out-performs base inflation rates over the long term, because if it didn’t, no one would invest.
