Selfhosted alternatives to ngrok, localtunnels, etc?
Due to having to expose local developments (in progress) publicly to interact with other third party services or to show them to other programmers I usually use ngrok in the free tier… Which is an absolute mess because it changes the URL on each command (nevertheless it works out of the box and very fast)…...

The Anomalous State of Knowledge
Hi all !...
What laptops/touchscreens are y’all using for portable ops?
Was looking into trying some digital modes and even logging while mobile (POTA/SOTA) or just on the road. I’ve also heard people use android devices as well.
Is the-eye safe?
The first site I ever used for getting e-books was the-eye.eu’s World Tracker Library. When the-eye went down and came back it looked like most of that section was gone, but just recently I discovered that there’s still an enormous collection of links at the-eye.eu/public/Books/…/sitemap.htm. However, actually trying to...

Was gifted some Primergy RX2530 M1 M2 and M4 - suitable for homelab in termy energy consumption
Lately I received a primergy rx2530 m1, m2 and m4 (all maxed out with ram and cpus) and wonder if and which of them can be driven as energy efficient as any random diy built. what's your favorite Gameboy game that isn't Pokemon or Mario?
I’ve just rediscovered my childhood Gameboys, I grew up in the 90s and had an original, a color, an advance and an sp. My game collection has whittled down over the year to the usual suspects, Pokemons, Zelda’s, Mario’s and some other standards. But I want to dive into some games that 7 year old me would have brushed over....

New, Low-ranked posts continuously popping up to top of homepage
I am new to Lemmy and am struggling with a usability issue that is making it virtually unusable. Every few seconds (I am assuming every time a new post is made) a new post pops at the top of the feed, no matter what my sorting method is. This causes any post I had open to close and for all posts to bump down which means I...
It's quite handy that ice floats for summer drinks
Ice floating and cooling the upper part of a drink should start a natural convection type cycle which cools the whole drink. If the ice sank, you'd have a very warm surface layer. Never thought about this with focus before 😅
I did all the things you wanted me to but I still suffer
I recently decided to play through the first Dishonored game
I had played Dishonored 2 about a year after it was first released, and it was a lot of fun. I love stealth games and I really liked the take it had on the genre. So a couple months ago when I saw the first one had a steam sale I decided to pull the trigger and I’m glad I did. Man, this game is good! I’ve played through it...

If you are usually a reddit lurker and are on here, it would be cool if you can try and engage with communities for a bit, just to try and get the ball rolling :)
