I’m looking for sunscreen recommendations - specifically for outdoor activities (hiking, etc), but if you’ve got everyday sunscreen recs, I’ll take those too. I generally prefer mineral sunscreens and I’m in the US, but feel free to share whatever sunscreens you like and hopefully others will benefit also....
My wife and I are in the mood to watch something terrible. We just watched the langoliers and hackers so something in that vein would be fun....
I’ve been using Mullvad for the past few months. Have not had many issues with it aside from the 5 device limit and the removal of port forwarding. I’m currently looking at Private Internet Access as a potential replacement. It looks like it offers 10 device limit and port forwarding included with the price....
I haven't found much to love this year apart from the hugely entertaining ADG7 from Korea....
I love Cajun seasoning on baked sweet potatoes and on scrambled eggs but I cannot find a premade mix that isn’t extremly salty. Can anyone recommend a good recipe for a Cajun seasoning mix that doesn’t rely on way too much salt to be tasty?
I’m trying not to suck up too much Reddit but IAF content is hard to source without a large community. It’s the diamonds in the rough that make IAF special. Should I dig into the archives once every couple days when it’s dry to keep the content rolling or let it be?

Just thought I’d share this since it’s working for me at my home instance of federate.cc, even though it’s not documented in the Lemmy hosting guide....
Why YSK: An airbag typically deploys at 100-200 MPH and if your phone is sitting there it will be launched towards you and probably impale you. Don’t put your phone on your steering wheel over your airbag. Don’t put any alternate logos or bedazzling on your airbag. Basically don’t do anything to or put anything on your...
My company is just starting to utilize O365 email encryption for sensitive information, which I know a lot of people are already using....
Whew, 2023 ain’t even close to done yet.
I read somewhere in here that other fediverse apps like Ice Cubes should be able to access Lemmy.World content to give one an experience similar to the Reddit app. I have Ice Cubes already for viewing mastodon posts and it works ok....
I think it’s great that so many people want to build and grow Lemmy, but why are we doing it by copying over Reddit content? It didn’t seem as bad when it was funny pics or memes or whatever, but now I’m seeing discussion threads, which doesn’t make sense to me....
I’m curious about what you think on how it will affect the Linux community and distros (especially RHEL based distros like Fedora or Rocky).
Edit: Solution is Zotify, use a burner account for this type of use (playing songs on speakers, quality is fine at 160kbps). It’s a bit hard to setup and use, but nothing major. SpotifyDown is the next best option Imo, cannot download full playlists but quality is good. (Not using audio from YouTube videos) Most other options...
My plan is to buy an NVMe today, install linux as a dual boot, but use linux as a daily driver, to see if it meets my needs before committing to it....
Particularly the AES, but if you had other experiences, share them below!
I’ve been a long time Redditor and an Apollo user for about a year. I even paid for it. The main draw for me was the lack of advertising. In the back of my head I kept thinking that it couldn’t last. Reddit is losing revenue from the lack of advertising views. It didn’t...
Does anybody know of an equivalent to /r/menslib? I think a strong egalitarian community for men could easily become a cornerstone of the threadiverse.
