That’s really cool! Can you tell some about the lense and what kind of post-processing did you do for this picture?

Gormadt OP ,

It’s a Linos 50mm TV - Heligon lens, the aperture isn’t posted anywhere as far as I could find but with some measuring and math says it’s about f/0.9. The lens has no aperture or focus control which made for some fun. Basically the easiest way to focus was by literally moving the camera.

Also due to how far from the sensor the lens sits it made this lens a macro lens on my camera as I was unable to get the back of the lens close enough to the sensor to actually focus very far out.

For post-processing I put the raw into Lightroom and adjusted the colors a little bit and I added the vinette in Lightroom as well because I wanted to add a more “from the eye” kind of look to it.

As a fun little fact: the miniature in the photo is about 35mm tall and their hand is about 10mm in front of their face.

Thank you and any time

I’ve got a lot of images that would need explanations for how I got them so I’m always happy to explain the origins of the weirdness.

Some are hard to explain though due to their strangeness, this one was luckily quite a bit easier to explain the process for them some of the other ones chilling on my hard drive.

And while using the gym treadmill you can look outside at people walking around for free.

I used to bike to work at an office building that had a spin class studio on the first floor. I was continually bemused at what fucking idiots those people were, wasting their time driving somewhere in order to waste even more time and money paying to ride a bike, when they could’ve just ridden their bike to wherever they needed to go for free and get their exercise along the way. I don’t care what excuses they use to rationalize it; it makes no damn sense.

From what I know, this is one of the things that make the car-dependency in the US a serious issue

I live in the capital of Norway, and damn near everything here is in walkable distance, and it’s so great. If I go somewhere I either take the public transit and/or walk, which really does add up over time. I can end up walking for many hours each week, which doesn’t feel burdensome or boring, and can effectively replace the treadmill. Then maybe take a few more brisk walks beside the river if I feel like it or something like that, which is nicer than in a gym.

I use my bike to go to the gym, then use the treadmill and the equipment to work out and then bike back home. Am I an idiot?

Times simular to your exaggeration will come and people will say “But it’s their service! If you want to use it, you have to follow their rules”. Not understanding that they’re slowly handing over control over their lives because we live in a modern time where everything is about technology. Sad to see how many people don’t understand this and disagree with me when I say that I’m infuriated over this.

When my Instagram login got locked due to inactivity, they want my phone number rand a selfish as part of the reactivation process.

Fuck that, it’s not important enough for me to go through that kind of bullshit.

Google is lying to you. They don’t want your phone number to “verify it’s you”. They want your phone number because it’s an effective measure against bot accounts.

There you’re correct that they are lying and don’t want the number to verify. They want it so they can link the profile they have to an actual person. That’ll make the profile more valuable to them. Better tracking etc.

Now it’s mandatory to give a phone number to create an account. Unfortunately the only way to restore your account is to follow what the bot says, because there’s no way to contact some human supervisor

i'm trying to work with a user here now who has an 'old school' gmail, no recovery methods, no phone numbers. cannot get in, even with the password as it's locked into requiring 2fa or some bullshit, which can't be done because there's no way to. google offers to send a 'code' to an email they provides but they never do. that account is just g.o.n.e.

i have had many others who have been screwed-over by microsoft when they ditched voice calls for verification/2fa, for years they begged and pleaded and conned users into giving up a phone number.. any phone number. and so they did. their landlines. they only ever had those landlines associated with their msa and microsoft won't utilize them anymore. this has spilled over to a several of them losing access to other accounts (in one case, including a number of ipods and ipads used by a family, too) because their 'hotmail' is now inaccessible for 2fa or verification/recovery of those non-microsoft accounts.

I wonder if this is what I'm dealing with - does it tell you it needs 2fa, or just refuse to log you in? I've been locked out of my old main gmail (no 2fa set up) for a while and would really like to get some stuff out of it before they automatically delete the lot.. 😕
