But since that time, when many were still sceptical of the blunt-talking New York businessman trailed by sex scandals, Mr Trump has made born-again Christians a key part of his voter base. Self-described conservative evangelical David Pautsch is a huge fan of Mr Trump, and the former president is part of the reason he’s decided to run for Congress in Iowa’s 1st district, challenging a Republican incumbent from the right. Mr Pautsch lives here in Davenport, a city of around 100,000 people in eastern Iowa, and was collecting signatures to back his campaign from hundreds of locals who braved frigid weather to visit a gun show at an exhibition centre. Kedron Bardwell, a political science professor at Simpson College in Indianola, just outside Des Moines, said that Mr Trump had a key advantage over his rivals - a track record that aligned with evangelical priorities. His appointment of three conservative justices to the Supreme Court - and the overturning of Roe v Wade, which for decades had held that there is a constitutional right to abortion - is a key part of that record, as is his decision to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. — Saved 82% of original text.
Enough with the ‘it’s the worst and it will get even worse’ stories. Start publishing the names and actions of those who benefitted from these catastrophies. Start publishing their plans to ride out the crises when the rest of us struggle in a disaster they made. Start publishing the actions they took to sabotage the world’s search for energy independence and sustainability. Start publishing how much money they made/stole with this. Start publishing the number of lives lost per person who benefitted from this.
I don’t understand the f***ing pacifist strategy against a bunch of greedy sniveling mass murderers.
Italy’s far-right government is seeking to crack down on schools that scrap Christian nativity scenes in order to reflect greater religious diversity.
A draft law introduced on Wednesday seeks to protect the country’s “cultural roots” by promoting “traditional” Christmas and Easter celebrations.
“For some years now we have witnessed unacceptable and embarrassing decisions by some schools that ban nativity scenes or modify the deep essence of Christmas by transforming it into improbable winter festivities so as not to offend believers of other religions,” said Lavinia Mennuni, a senator for the ruling Brothers of Italy party, who introduced the bill.
“Allowing the transformation of the Sacred Christian holidays into another anonymous type of celebration would constitute discrimination against the students and their families practicing the majority religion as well as an attack on the values and the deepest tradition of our people,” the draft text reads.
Riccardo Magi, secretary of the left-wing More Europe party, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that the Brothers of Italy’s proposal “should offend all believers, as well as being unconstitutional because it contradicts freedom of worship”.
“Instead of governing the country, a duty they [the Brothers of Italy] don’t know how to manage, they continue to use ‘weapons of distraction’ like this law against principals who agree to the removal of the nativity scene at school,” said Luana Zanella from the Green Europe party.

I am an older millennial who grew up around Gen X kids older than me.
All those Gen X kids were so fucking stuck up about music and would be so fucking rude and mean if you listened to the “wrong” music.
Guess what you Gen X chucklefucks, your music didn’t change the world and more than half of you grew up to be conservatives. Why the living fuck would I give a shit about your worthless fucking opinions on music?
It took me years of growing out of the brow beating about music to understand I truly do love all kinds of music and to not limit myself by genre.
Hot takes: Nirvana is overrated, nobody even remembers Stone Temple Pilots or Janes Addiction because they were fucking forgettable mid-tier trash. People whose tastes in music never grew and still only listen to what they listened to in high school probably never grew in a lot of other ways, too.
It’s funny this is on “Technology” topic and not just on “World news” or like that, like if this blog was related to tech… it’s like a clickbait deserved to be filtered, bad quality post from bbc.co.uk… not saying anything interesting unless “he’s on hospital”
Ah, I never heard about him, right now Apple makes pretty bad computers unless for their ARM CPUs that are more or less efficient, but that will end soon. They just messed up with arch CPUs, making things harder for developers.
this belongs here just fine
Nope, he is just one guy more working on tech, he’s just richer than his employees, that’s why he is here.
From the beginning? Why you don’t tell me exactly what am I wrong, instead to tell me to read everything from the first computer made? I might be wrong, so tell me.
EDIT: I mean, I feel like he just started with microprocessors, but that’s all. I can’t read anything else he did for us, and if he wouldn’t do it, any other would do it. And as I said, Apple was good when it started, but RIGHT NOW sucks in many ways. So he wasn’t that brilliant if he can’t even make Apple a good tech company. They are just marketing. Apple right now: redirect.invidious.io/watch?v=0PK9RzSl9O0&lis… maybe that’s why he’s on Hospital, after reading the Apple employees saying 8GB RAM on M3 is like 16GB on Windows/Linux.
This guy was a legend. Steve Jobs took credit for everything but Wozniak was the brains.
Wozniak is a much, much better person than Steve Jobs was also. However, thanks to Steve Jobs, we got macbooks. Wozniak would not have put such polish on the products as Steve did, or market it the same magical way. Steve was great at marketing, but he didn’t have the tech skills Wozniak had.
But that’s just marketing… I wouldn’t say “This guy was a legend”, he just did a company and paid employees. He could have good ideas, but many of Apple features are startups bought and stolen, like SIRI.
