Okay so for context: I’ve never really downloaded movies right after release, the movies that I’ve downloaded were all released at least few months before the time of download, so I don’t know how movies releases work....
Sometimes it can be hard to tell if we’re chatting with a bot or a real person online, especially as more and more companies turn to this seemingly cheap way of providing customer support. What are some strategies to expose AI?

Alright guys, I’m going to do it. Today I’m ditching Windows and trying to run Linux exclusively as my daily driver....

I have some stuff on Audible but don’t want to pay for OpenAudible to De-DRM them. What would be the best place to get those audiobooks? Audiobookbay has nothing I’m looking for.
Hi, In short: will I run the risk of receiving an angry Hetzner e-mail telling me to stop downloading torrents when I configer my local deluge client to connect through a local gluetun VPN client to a selfhosted wireguard vpn on a hetzner server? I have limited knowledge of VPNs but as far as I understand it the connection...
I have an already configured VPS server in Hetzner. I’m pretty happy with it. I have it configured with yunohost (a Debian “layer” that allows you to easily install services). Now I’m planning to run a NextCloud service, but my current server is not capable to handle it with it’s current capabilities. For the same...
Yay! It’s Friday!...
Basically, I have read several statements addressing this topic. For example:...
Looks like 9anime is down lately, is there alternative?
Hello ! I hope I’m at the good place. A friend of mine asked me :...
In need of a rechargeable battery bank I can keep in my car and use to charge my phone. My car is a little older and has one of those cigarette lighter things. Only problem is it doesn’t charge the phone, it just keeps it from dying, which is inconvenient for my current setup. Looking for good ones for the price, and hopefully...
Let’s use lemmygrad.ml as an example. My home instance is lemmy.world, which I see has defederated from lemmygrad.ml. If I post to a community on lemmygrad.ml, will everyone be able to see it?...
Hello everynyan,...
Hi everyone 🙂...
I recently created an account for Pixelfed and I was wondering, what is the best way to share pictures from there to Lemmy, for example to [email protected] community?...
Hi everyone, Last month I finally managed to build my first SFF PC (Ryzen 7600 + AMD 6800). I’m also starting to learn about self-hosting and tinkering with it (the usual stuff: Jellyfin, pi-hole, nextcloud, VPN, torrenting etc.)...

There’s still some subreddits I’d like to view as their communities haven’t swapped over yet. Like you guys, I obviously don’t want to support Reddit in any way shape or form. Surprisingly, they have not gutted RSS feeds yet. Simply add .rss at the end of the domain. Example...
Hi, I’m relatively new here. Like probably a lot of people, I appended the word “reddit” to most of my searches to get discussions around my interests/news or to find “curated” things. I noticed that it does not work as great with “Lemmy” for example, as the user base is more spread out and smaller in general....
Like I saw one that was titled “I wonder why rule” and had a picture about overpaid CEOs or something....
Just what the title says. Can I upvote posts and comments in communities I am not subscribed for?
