I don’t understand why Misskey is needed when there is a very similar in functionality Mastodon with a large community and various unofficial applications.

I’ve recently decided to try and degoogle my life, or at least lessgoogle it. One app I use regularly is GoogleVoice. It works really well to keep my work and personal numbers separated. Also works reasonably well to keep my personal number clean from spam. What is out there that provides similar functionality?
