Hi, I think I’m finally done with Reddit. I haven’t log in for many days, and the 2 minutes I’ve spent on the web site I just thought “Eh, this site really sucks, everything is slow, isn’t loading on my slow connecting, and is an overall pain”....
I understand that sharing video, photos, documents etc. is relatively safe because the data is not executed in the processor as instructions. How come people are willing to download and install pirated software though? How can one be confident that it does not contain malicious addons? Are people just don’t know the risks? Or...
I work as a web dev, FE/BE, and company I currently work in took a project that is basically some kind of MLM structured business. It’s a challenge to do such project, not only from dev perspective, but also morally I’m not sure if I’m okay with it....
I know this is typical for the US so this is more for US people to respond to. I wouldn’t say that it is the best system for work, just wondering about the disconnect.
This seems like something that should be true, but I think I remember seeing a Mythbusters episode where they decided it didn't make a difference. That show was more about entertainment than science, so I wondered if there was a more rigorous study done? I've definitely seen splashes of water(?) come out from flushes so that...
I usually download ebooks from Anna’s Archive and transfer it to my Kindle through the service. But 1/10 times it fails, with no apparent reason. The particular ebook in question is annas-archive.org/…/e310a253a9d85992129cc2b8dd351…. What’s the way out?
I worked hard at imitating the Leonard Nimoy Spock’s raised eyebrow for quite a while. I don’t regret the time spent practicing that in front of a mirror. I never mastered a fully raised eyebrow, but I can do a slight eyebrow raise....
So I recently (a couple months ago) moved my fragmented docker-on-raspberry-pi architecture over to a Proxmox cluster. I’m running it on a pair of HP DL360 G6s, and I couldn’t be happier....
Wow, what a great adventure! If you haven’t heard of it, it’s about an English sea captain who gets marooned in Japan around 1600, and has to adapt to Japanese culture. Lots of politicking, romance, and decapitation. Very loosely based on real people too....
Side note: It’s also called Parizer in reference to Paris, the city that is neither Bologna, nor Lyon, another french city which would be the actual origin of the sausage.
Throughout my life i have set up a multitude of different printers. None of them have been a pleasant experience. Why is this, and is there a printer that is actually good?...
I’ve been playing Soulworker since Xigncode got proton support, however I’ve yet to find a proper fix for this little annoyance. A workaround I’ve been successfully using is just opening my inventory or some other menu to bring up the cursor....
Finally got round to seeing Guardians 3… What a waste of 2 1/2 hours that was. I enjoyed the first 2, but 3 was just terrible. The “story” is awful. Numerous, cheesy, cliché bits thrown together here and there. Nothing interesting or very cohesive. Nothing ever had a sense of consequence....
I’ve been streaming games from my big boy PC to the deck for a few weeks now. Everything so far had streamed pretty well, but streaming Ratchet and Clank, it just runs like ass? It runs perfectly fine on the PC when not streaming. I stream Miles Morales and it plays great, so I’m not sure what it is and looking to see if...
I have recently jumped head first into the Linux space. I’ve installed Arch on my daily driver and I’ve become overwhelmed/overjoyed with my options. I’d like to hear from the community about your Linux favorites....
