Recently I stumbled over an article, about how to customize your shell prompt. What really surprised me, is that it lacked one of the most basic tips I learned nearly 20 years back: Always display a timestamp in the prompt, to be able to check how long a process is running or when it ended. (Don’t need it daily, but every so...
Hi everyone, looking for some NVR software to run a bunch of Cisco 6630 cameras I picked up (I know I know, but at
I don’t play or promote videogames, I honestly just want to focus on developing open source software!! And I know that Tux and other mascots have their own open source games, but do you think the developers of mainline Linux play videogames??
I’m having a hard time to move my docker compose files to podman and I can’t find any podman compose instructions. Does it work reliably for you?
My laptop seems very finicky with linux and enjoys periodically freezing. Some distributions are more stable than others and I’d like to keep testing other distributions without reinstalling/ downloading/transferring all my apps and steam games constantly....
Of course without committing a crime before and without saying anything else.
I’m planning to go on a long trip around the country where speed limits are ridiculously low, even on highways, and that’s all the road police care about (even the slightest of speed-limit infringements) and was wondering if a radar/speeding-camera detector would be worth it....
I downloaded the game files, mounted the .iso files and added the game to setup.exe to my steam library and installed the game under the mountpoint. When i click play in steam i just get back to the installer. Running the SkyrimSe.exe in steam(located in the CODEX directory) doesnt work. I use Arch Linux.
When I travel, I try to taste the local cuisine and love to try things that I’ve never had before. Recently I tried haggis, which was outstanding. I’ve also had hakarl (fermented shark - not really my cup of tea, but glad I tried it) and balut (surprisingly tasty)....
This thread is where all the takes from idiots (looking at you Armchair Warlord) and screenshots of twitter posts/youtube thumbnails go.
I currently have a Redmi note 10 5G. It has 4gb + 3gb of RAM (RAM extension feature) which is not even that bad....
There’s a troubleshooting application for MacOS I’d be happy to buy, but the developers only offer it as on a subscription model, which is unacceptable. If I’m going to buy software, I’d better be able to own it and still be able to use that version in 10 years. Subscription is the worst of both worlds – pay for the...
This probably isn’t the best place for this but something I want to have been mentioned....
P.s I’m not gonna handwash. That’s too much
I have a Oneplus phone which has a beta version of Android installed. I side-loaded it a couple of years ago from the official source (Oneplus website). I don’t remember if it received any further updates, I think it didn’t. I don’t know how to revert back to a stable release. It has been working without any problems. I...
Again, excuse my ignorance, I’m just curious since I don’t really know the context and everything else I found has confused me. So I’m hoping someone might be able to explain it and give me much better context....
Are there any safe, functional apps for iOS mobile devices (specifically iPhone, but iPad would be nice too) that let you use Youtube without ads? Something like what Youtube Revanced is for Android.
According to quantum field theory, the universe can be thought of not as isolated particles but continuous fluctuating fields: matter fields, whose quanta are fermions (i.e., leptons and quarks), and force fields, whose quanta are bosons (e.g., photons and gluons). All these fields have zero-point energy.>...
Hi. This question is for leftists mostly. If you watch a content creator that’s on the left, but they have a questionable guest on, do you continue to watch that creator or do you find a different creator to watch? I sometimes watch The Convo Couch and Danny Haiphong, but they’ve had very questionable guests on and I can’t...
Since proton vpn doesn’t accept ETH and my BTC is “locked” on coinbase i’m looking for an alternative to accept my ETH. (maybe the fee is lower with metamask)....
Yea, I know its the edgy kid distro, just trying some stuff with it on live USB. I’m not doing this on my Debian install to save time...
Finally got a 3d printer, but the first thing I wanted to print… the model is 400$usd. It’s a piece of machinery I repair at work. I just wanted to print it as a decoration for my toolbox but that is almost week’s wages after taxes for me so :( Maybe I can find it on the high seas ?
