Religion is child abuse. No surprise there'd be more. They're already in the business. It's on the package. That's what they're selling.

They take young inquisitive minds and teach them to be subject and secondary to archaic bullshit and propaganda as early as they can listen, teaching them they deserve abuse and can't trust their senses and intuitions and sense of self. It's fucking disgusting.
Even the best pieces of religion are just a table setting, training to lay down a lifetime of torment and failure. A means to take away any agency and decency and accomplishment an individual might have, so they can be appropriated and misused by greedy lying abusive fucks in supposed positions of power, people we're supposed to respect.

Religion has no place in society. It is a perversion and a derangement of the natural sense in decent individuals that there should be goodness between people and that we should improve ourselves and our environment in a meaningful way. It is absolutely designed to debase human's faith in ourselves and has only survived because successful religions piggyback on the worst parts of vestigial tribal instincts, outlets for which have otherwise been mostly removed from modern life.

Link rot takes it all away. Once the profit motive is gone, everything fades. Like Friendster into the ether, we will be forgotten.

Soluble fiber. Beans, nuts, seeds. These slow digestion as you mention and feed gut microbes.

Insoluble fiber, for many, do the opposite and generate gas in the upper GI tract. Stuff like cabbage, kale, etc.

What does Scientology have on these two? Yuck.

Not to my knowledge. (Didn't look it up, but thought it was him and Laura Prepon that were. And she might have left, not sure.) Just was referring to how Scientology has a history of blackmail.

This brave little guy just had surgery. (lemmy.ninja)

Scooter had the last of his teeth (besides the canines) pulled today. Poor little guy has stomatitis which means he’s allergic to his own tooth enamel. The vet said it was the worst case he’s ever seen but the gums around the teeth that were pulled last time are looking much better, so hopefully this will be the end of his...

That fucking guy? That they had this clown make a statement about their plans on ethics tells us all we need to know. What fucking jokes these assholes are. Shit is intentional and premeditated.

The story here is that Ukraine treats Russians with more dignity that Russia treats their own people. Hopefully, any Russians able to follow the story can see that.

It's just republicans trying to politic to their base by misconstruing the facts. Fact is republicans have always been anti-labor. While, unfortunately democrats don't campaign well on their actual accomplishments for working people and tend to expect those accomplishments to stand for themselves. This is also why republicans are mostly dumb and tend to believe whatever the most reactionary (and loud) voice in the room tells them is true, even while those same people stab them in the back while lying to their face.

RICO prosecution requires multiple acts wherein members set up an "illegal coordinated scheme or operation (a "racket") to repeatedly or consistently collect a profit" through coercion, fraud or extortion.
How in the hell is this going to apply to loosely organized voluntary protesters who are unarmed in the face of heavily armed police?

This is stupid. This case is going to fall apart.

Dihydrogen monoxide isn't a good name for water, especially in this context. Hydroxic acid or hydrogen hydroxide make much more sense.
Water only splits into O2 and H2 under electrolysis, not due to acid/base chemistry. You have to be actively adding electrons. In solution, it dissociates into ion states as protons H+ and hydroxide OH-.

Hydrogen Hydroxide
Water.
Specifically, water reacting as a base. When reacting as an acid its systematic name is Hydroxic Acid.
Oddly enough, water can be considered a molecule (H2O), or an ion group (H+ and OH-). Once I got that through my skull, the whole acid/base mess got much clearer.

It totally is. That's mentioned in the article:

Purpureocillium species share many similarities with those of their sister genus Ophiocordyceps, which includes the “zombifying” fungi that hijack the bodies of their insect prey and are featured in the apocalyptic television show and video game The Last of Us.
