This would be a huge blow. I use Google a ton to find relevant content on Reddit. It’s still a useful way to find helpful comments even after the mass exodus and deleting of old comments. This seems like it would be much more harmful.

Morning Brew. Their daily emails give me just the right amount of news. Most of the major stories in a concise format. I usually hate emails so I was skeptical when setting this up, but I do like it

How is it even possible/practical to obey traffic laws?

I’m talking specifically about obeying the speed limit, doing a full stop at stop signs, etc. After receiving a speeding ticket for doing 53 in a 50, As an experiment I went a full day obeying all traffic laws 100% and it caused so much road rage. For example, there is a 2 lane road near me with a speed limit of 50 (where I...

Getting a speeding ticket while going 3 miles over the speed limit sucks so I can see why you’re upset.

I’ve never had a problem just going with the flow of traffic. Sometimes almost everyone is going over the speed limit. I go with that. I’ve lived in Minnesota most of my life. I’m more comfortable than most driving in snow and ice. Sometimes in snowy conditions the flow of traffic seems slower than necessary. Yet, again, I just go with the traffic flow and end up driving a bit slower than I would otherwise. If there’s little to no traffic I just go the speed limit. If someone wants in my lane I let them in whenever possible.

unwinagainstable ,

I’d go with the flow even if they are going over. Drivers going at different speeds can lead to dangerous situations so I try to avoid that most of all. If there’s little traffic then I’d go about the speed limit.

unwinagainstable ,

You’re right, you could. I never have been ticketed or in an accident. It’d be better if everyone followed the speed limit, but since that doesn’t happen I try to take the safest approach possible given the situation.

unwinagainstable ,

Scam for sure. Hard to say it’s been unnoticed for a long time though

They’re losing subscribers and money so I guess it’s not surprising. I’m down to zero streaming services after cutting back this year. The last couple subscriptions I’ve gotten I immediately cancelled and binge watched for the month my subscription lasted. There was no need to extend the subscription after that. Most services you can exhaust the content in a month or two of heavy use.

unwinagainstable ,

Making changes isn’t surprising since the current pricing is losing money.

unwinagainstable ,

Yeah definitely don’t need to check that out beforehand

What was Musk’s logic? Was there any? It’s like he ruined the reputation of Twitter and decided to try a restart under a new name but it’s predictably failing.

unwinagainstable ,

That’s interesting. I didn’t enjoy Batman in this

I will gladly read news blurbs wherever if reporters switch to another site

I thought I was reading a headline from The Onion at first.

Can you use apps with Garmin? I’m getting into weightlifting a bit and want to use the Strong app to record my lifting routine without needing to take out my phone. The only other features I really want are decent heart rate monitoring and good pairing with AirPods.

I’ve never had a smartwatch. I’ve been looking to get a used one. I was leaning towards a slightly older series Apple Watch but open to something different

unwinagainstable ,

It seems like it has some great features. I think I saw the battery life is quite good which would be nice. I know next to nothing about smartwatches so I’m just trying to figure out what would work for me. I’m pretty sure I will end up getting something used, I just haven’t decided on what. Apps are an pretty important factor for me.

unwinagainstable ,

I have an iPhone. Apple Watch probably makes more sense for me, I think I’ll try to get an old used one and see how I like it. I could see Garmin being really good for a lot of people though.

Blocking sidewalks anywhere is a shitty move. If you can’t park without blocking the sidewalk, you shouldn’t park there. This includes your own driveway

I can’t do games with micro transactions. I got hooked on one and it was hard to break out of it even after I recognized how stupid my spending was. I was drawn into the games community which made it hard to let go and easy to get carried away with spending. It was a team atmosphere and cutting back made it feel like I was hurting our group. Eventually I sold my account to get out. It was very hard to do though. This type of spending looks really stupid from the outside looking in but there’s a strong draw that’s tough to escape when you’re in the middle of it. I just have to avoid them entirely now because I’m afraid getting addicted again. I don’t really play mobile games anymore because of how common it is

unwinagainstable ,

I hate subscriptions. Too damn easy to forget about. I’ve started subscribing for the shortest period possible and immediately canceling. Sometimes I’ll renew, but generally I just try to get as much as I can out of it in a short period then let it expire

unwinagainstable ,

Why wouldn’t it ever be finished? I know it’s been painstakingly slow, but hasn’t he been making progress and sharing some updates?

unwinagainstable ,

Musk will need to draw from his Twitter profits to get by

I keep seeing the helmet discs as large eyes. Reminds me a bit of Clank from Ratchet and Clank.

It’s hitting me kind of hard watching my folks in their mid-60s. Their health is starting to slip a little bit in small but noticeable ways. I never really saw it until recently

unwinagainstable ,

They deserve a ticket or getting towed at this point. Taking up two spots is mildly annoying, this goes way beyond that.

I expect it’s a low percentage of overall users. Many are using the official Reddit app and just complaining about it. Others have switched to surviving third party apps. Still others are strictly Old Reddit on desktop.

The moderator community have likely felt a greater hit.

I made it in! Excited for something new after 10 years on Reddit

The Count of Monte Cristo. I did like it, but I expect the abridged version would have been better for me. There were parts that were a struggle to get through. It just seems like the unabridged version is more recommended, so I felt compelled to get through it
