Reworded: Think of all the resources spent on making sure people don’t steal the software you paid to make.

I’m all for open source software. But if a company spends money paying employees, they need to not go out of business.

Now, do I think they overcharge? Yes. Do I think their subscription model is offensive? Yes. Are there other alternatives: Affinity Photo, you pay once for the version. Yours forever.

Do I think it’s possible to destroy capitalism entirely? No. People don’t give up power and property. Also, humans are greedy and corrupt—but that’s a different topic.

Do I think we can get to the point where there is significantly less suffering and class gap? I think it’s possible.

I never said I excused it. I’m just not deluded enough to think that people, as a whole, WILL actually change even if I want them too. And I don’t go around pretending I’m a badass fighting capitalism, when all I do is shitpost in my echo chamber and lump people into two categories: good and bad.

PHP is great for building APIs to use with React or Vue. I’m happy I have so much back end experience with both good and bad code.

My motto: if a Junior dev can’t figure out what I’m doing after two weeks of training, I’ve failed.
