Of course it’s a whimper, Timmy wants you to buy your mom an iPhone to chat.

Science is very much an art in and of itself; breaking ground and figuring out how to set up a new process/experiment doesn’t come from thin air.

tb_ ,
@tb_@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah. And consider the verification process games have to go through on consoles, probably easier to do it all in one big update.

tb_ ,
@tb_@lemmy.world avatar

Fair. But also this probably wouldn’t have been an issue hadn’t Trump filled it and the supreme court with his goons.

Thanks, not much of a bot though :p

A social app for creatives, Cara grew from 40k to 650k users in a week because artists are fed up with Meta’s AI policies | TechCrunch (techcrunch.com)

Artists have finally had enough with Meta’s predatory AI policies, but Meta’s loss is Cara’s gain. An artist-run, anti-AI social platform, Cara has grown from 40,000 to 650,000 users within the last week, catapulting it to the top of the App Store charts....

Just because you wouldn’t, means people shouldn’t be able to? Like, at all? Do with the device they bought as they wish?

100 years ago, US citizenship for Native Americans came without voting rights in swing states (apnews.com)

It’s been a century now since an act of Congress granted citizenship to Native Americans, but advocates say that right bestowed in 1924 still hasn’t translated into equal access to the ballot. Inequities are especially pronounced in remote regions across the U.S., and some key Southwestern states with large Native American...

That was very much the case for early “democracy” in Europe as well.

But I guess we don’t quite deify our “founding fathers” and “the constitution” quite to the same extent over here.

Samsung even used to have a Tizen alternative to Android on smartphones way back when.

Android also has “Android TV”. I suppose “Wear OS” is more unique.

But it’s the actual protesters who are being violent, amirite?

… as some outlets seem eager to claim.

The 'Appeal to Heaven' flag evolves from Revolutionary War symbol to banner of the far right (apnews.com)

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito is embroiled in a second flag controversy in as many weeks, this time over a banner that in recent years has come to symbolize sympathies with the Christian nationalist movement and the false claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen....

How can journalism be unbiased when the world is inequal.

tb_ ,
@tb_@lemmy.world avatar

This is clearly user error.

When it’s been advertised to the user as “full self driving”, is it?

Furthermore, the car can’t recognize the visibility is low and alert the user and/or refuse to go into self driving?

I wouldn’t trust Musk with my life either.

But, presumably, we have moved beyond the age of advertising snake oil and miracle cures; advertisements have to be somewhat factual.

If a user does as is advertised and something goes wrong I do believe it’s the advertiser who is liable.

tb_ ,
@tb_@lemmy.world avatar

Right. But can you blame the user for trusting the advertisement?

If the CEO isn’t ruthless in their pursuit of increasing shareholder value they will get booted and may even be breaking the law.

Natural selection but you select for psychopathy.

tb_ ,
@tb_@lemmy.world avatar

I’ve heard they must maximise value by law, it seems that was wrong. If that’s not literally the law, then that’s a relief to hear.

Either way, the line must go up. Can’t continuously deliver a good service: if growth starts flatlining it is made more predatory.

Perhaps not exclusively so, but it could’ve convinced some to choose a Tesla over other EV’s.

I guess Musk hadn’t yet fired enough people after closing their entire charging station division.

Though that isn’t an excuse for Google’s behaviour.

They only offered refunds to pre orders.

Yeah… Germany has so much renewable energy they’re bringing coal plants back online.

Good guy Norway on the renewables though. Definitely not one of the largest crude oil exporters either.

That said, I do like the idea of converting excess energy to hydrogen. If only there was an energy source that wouldn’t cause global warming, would be a great base load next to more fickle renewables, and which could be diverted to generating hydrogen when demand for energy is low.

You can even get separate TPM modules to plug into your MoBo, if I’m not mistaken.

No. But if you keep a lot of fish really tightly packed in the same place those parasites will have a much easier time spreading.
