Uh… there’s quite a few more things than that

mnemonicmonkeys ,

God just claims you have free will. Satan is the one that actually fights for it

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Insert Stephen Fry interview here

mnemonicmonkeys ,

He also kills defenseless babies before they can be baptized. And if life begins at conception, why is God pubishing babies by killing them in the womb (aka stillborn)? Why do they deserve to be stuck in purgatory when they are innocent?

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Part of the joke is that Lockheed Martin doesn’t actually make tanks. They mainly make planes, helicopters, missiles etc. US tanks are currently only produced by General Dynamics

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Trying for a second kid because they clearly messed up with the first

mnemonicmonkeys ,

And it’s pretty consistent for Linus too. He’s been making this rant on WAN show since ChatGPT started gaining traction

mnemonicmonkeys ,

My guess is funding from Russia/China and libertarian foundations run by Rupert Murdoch and the Koch brothers

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Holy shit, it is. I’m really hoping that includes mobile, since it’s the only thing keeping me using a Chromium browser

mnemonicmonkeys ,

And if they don’t want to always use that specific account, they can set it up for family sharing

mnemonicmonkeys ,

I guarantee that you’ll get crickets for 99% of those emails

mnemonicmonkeys ,

And Ubisoft can go fuck themselves with a cactus

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Tbf, that’s not really Spotify’s fault. After operating costs and the cut to the various app stores they’re on, the larger record labels hoover up all of the profits. Spotify has actually operated at a loss the past few years.

mnemonicmonkeys ,

But why would you want that in front of the house and not behind?

mnemonicmonkeys ,

I have no idea who this is and I’m thankful for it

mnemonicmonkeys ,

You can do that with a pc as well

mnemonicmonkeys ,

This community is literally called “PC Gaming”. They went out of their way to come here and type up a false reason to claim that consoles are better.

mnemonicmonkeys ,

You can make PC’s with comparable price and performance of a console. Especially when you facotr in the cost of subscriptions to use online services. Content creators just rarely cover that because it doesn’t get them views

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Honestly, I think that’s more perception than reality. Consoles are just “plug in and play” right out of the box, you have to get accounts set up and games installed. If you buy a prebuilt PC with the OS installed, there’s not a significantly different amount of setup needed in comparison.

mnemonicmonkeys ,

The difference is that MS and Sony have started porting their games to PC this generation. There’s very few console exclusives left apart from Nintendo

mnemonicmonkeys , (edited )

The PC would’ve survived even without that though.

PC gaming survival hasn’t been in question for decades. I think it’s more about people wondering when consoles are going to start dying off, and we might be getting there soon

mnemonicmonkeys ,

but damn if it isn’t extremely effective at sending information out of reach from governments

It’s not particularly better at it than most other social media sites/apps

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Gotdamn, back-paddle buttons? Now I regret buying the Kong Pro 2 controller a year ago

mnemonicmonkeys ,

I personally don’t mind the foot included in the pic, but please trim your toenails

mnemonicmonkeys ,

You’re thoughts are broadly correct. It’s just a terrible idea a particularly dumb set of vatniks tried out

mnemonicmonkeys ,

He has hired a few contractors to help build out features like co-op, (though the first few versions were entirely him on his own). That would eat into profits a bit, but even if he paid each of them $100k for their work there are few enough for it to be a drop in the bucket

mnemonicmonkeys ,

If it’s literally the first thing on startup, anyone annoyed can just refund it

mnemonicmonkeys ,

As an American, I agree. The aftertaste of Hershey chocolate is the same as vomit

‘My whole library is wiped out’: what it means to own movies and TV in the age of streaming services (www.theguardian.com)

*What rights do you have to the digital movies, TV shows and music you buy online? That question was on the minds of Telstra TV Box Office customers this month after the company announced it would shut down the service in June. Customers were told that unless they moved over to another service, Fetch, they would no longer be...

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Well, not digital piracy. Ye olde piracy absolutely was stealing, plus a medley of other crimes

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Japan actually has a rather conservative culture, particularly in politics, so comparing them to US Republicans os very apt

The fediverse won’t succeed at putting up a substitute and that’s a problem?

Just an impression: All the pieces seem to be there. But what’s required is a team, with devs, PMs and coordinators, dedicated to making a particular place in the .

That’s resources and decently sized financial and organisational demands, especially to get a critical mass of users.

Is the fediverse up to that challenge? If not, is it an issue worth addressing?

@fediverse

mnemonicmonkeys ,

In SO you likely get few but good answers Are we talking about the same website? The absolute worse advixe I’ve even recieved for coding has come from Srack Overflow. Hell, I once needed help with Arduino code - the only user who bothered answering stated they didn’t know how to do it in Arduino so he wrote the solution in Java. Then I tried it out they Java and their solution was completely wrong.

c/patientgamers

It costs them money to include, so they’ll take it out eventually

mnemonicmonkeys ,

Looks like your account is on Lemmy.World, so you can’t access c/piracy. I’ll get you a link to the megathread.

EDIT: Nevermind, hedgehog already posted it

mnemonicmonkeys ,

I just watched the Lazerpig/Animarchy/Digi/etc. coverage of it and it was even more disappointing that last year’s parade. They spliced in footage for the flyover because they couldn’tdo it live. They literally faked the flyover for broadcast
