mesamunefire , to games in Can you trust Valve? Honest criticism of Steam.

Yeah they ever get Linux support they will become my favorite.

mesamunefire , to fediverse in What can ActivityPub do that RSS can't?

Respond and interact with content. Whatever it may be. In most sites, that means using their singular platform with their rules. With Activity hub, it means using many potentially different platforms to communicate.

I personally use both rss and activity hub. Works pretty well. One to inform and one to communicate with.

Same deal for me too. I think the software might need to be compiled for linux instead of pushing proton. I also tried wine but no dice.

mesamunefire , to retrogaming in Discover Super Mario and the Rainbow Stars: 7 Chapters

Anyone know how to get it setup on a SteamDeck?

Neat! Looks cool.

mesamunefire OP , to music in The End of Finale - Finale (end of an era)

It’s still used in academia but that’s all I know. It’s been a long time and the number of people who care is probably pretty small by the number of upvotes.

mesamunefire OP , (edited ) to music in The End of Finale - Finale (end of an era)

I used to teach music theory and used finale notepad for it. It was very hard to find compositions with notepad because of how proprietary the setup was. But it was invaluable for multiple instruments. And later the Internet started to have a ton of compositions. The issue has always been how expensive it was.

Anyways end of an era.

“For a limited time, users of any version of Finale or PrintMusic can purchase Dorico Pro – the highest tier of the product – for just $149 (retail price $579).”

So expensive…

I’ll have to try out musescore.

mesamunefire , to fediverse in Matrix let-down

I run it off yunohost which comes with it by default. Im not saying its the best to have servers come with it by default, but I sure use it quite a bit!

mesamunefire , to fediverse in Matrix let-down

Ive had a better time with good old irc. But I hope matrix takes over…

mesamunefire , to technology in US grid adds batteries at 10x the rate of natural gas in first half of 2024

Yep your not wrong. In my local area, they are starting to use them for the grid. I know one of the engineers over at a local makerspace. The process is getting refined ATM. Its cool this and concrete power cells are becoming a thing.
