Thanks. I think the likelihood of me diving back in went from 5% back to 0%. I’ve heard similar sentiments as well and then getting all defensive. I don’t begrudge anyone for enjoying the new Simpsons but it’s not for me. Also, I’ve been listening to clips here and there. Homer and Marge’s voice sound rougher, which makes sense given the amount of time that’s passed but yeah…

I think the implication is more of the fact that having a supported OS gaming handheld distribution is preferable to Windows. It’s so much smoother with controls being pre-configured for me and being able to suspend on the fly. I’m sure there’s loads of other things that I don’t even think about … I would imagine the optimizations.

SteamOS is the main reason why I like the SteamDeck. I would be quite happy if there’s another Linux distro or if there’s great Windows support. I think when if that happens, then the consumer adoption of these would skyrocket.

I love the Steam Deck. I’ve been blowing through old games like no tomorrow. I stream PS5 games and more intensive games from my desktop. It’s been a delightful device. They really cleaned up the PC gaming experience.

I’ve had trouble getting my Stardew Valley working on it through Heroic because it’s on GoG, but just may buy it on Steam.

My PS5 and Desktop are wired but my Deck is not.

The latency seems fine but I’m not a very good gamer. Better gamers could be annoyed, but it seems fine to me. There’s been the odd hiccup now and again with Chiaki (PS5 streaming) where things go gray but it doesn’t bother me too much.

I think if it’s actually related to tech it’s fine. For example, I read an article from DHH talking about how Musk’s strategy has saved money by moving from Cloud to on-prem and doing it cut massive costs.

I almost got into legal trouble by them when I left. Their contract also said I couldn’t work within 15 miles around any of their head offices in the world or any of their clients. They had hundreds of clients.

So I left and I did apply to work for their clients and they told my employer that this was against my contract. The employer laughed and said this isn’t enforceable anywhere. However, when they passed it by their legal department they said that it isn’t worth a legal fight even though it’s easily winnable. Just asked me to wait a year.

I paid someone to replace the battery in my Samsung S10E. The battery was never good in that thing to begin with despite all my favorite tech YouTubers saying otherwise. Anywho, I think the repair shop must have gaevin me a bunk battery because it was worse than before. Got a pixel 7 last year. I definitely would have preferred to just be able to swap the battery myself.
