lemmy , to selfhosted in I have the mini computer. Now what?

I had issues getting hardware acceleration working on server.....but, I guess that isn't a issue on a mini pc

Also with them being new Desktop offers a lot of tools and easier to navigate. However I do a minimal install not a full one

lemmy , to selfhosted in I have the mini computer. Now what?

Personally..... Id spin up a Ubuntu desktop instance for Jellyfin and Sonarr. I went through a few different operating systems before I went back to Ubuntu and....it just works. Lots of documentation on installing those services that way. Jellyfin is very happy behind Sonarr... I'd stay away from Windows for any kind of selfhosting because I don't trust them

lemmy , to nostupidquestions in Do you feel that there's a lack of discussion on Lemmy on stuff besides the current Reddit and Twitter controversies?

I run mine over at Linode for the last couple weeks without any downtime. Can't recommend it enough. And it doesn't use a lot of resources so you can host multiple things on one server.

It's a solid piece of kit. Glad I could help

lemmy , to selfhosted in New Lemmy Server - Get all communities

That is how it works you have to manually add communities

lemmy , to selfhosted in federation test

That worked too

lemmy , to selfhosted in Low latency remote desktop for Linux VMs without GPU?

Did you try Rustdesk? I use it for accessing VMs

lemmy , to showerthoughts in If Lemmy and Mastodon continues to get popular, we will eventually get Instance wars.

I think it would be better if everybody selfhosted a instance of their own. Make it super hard and complicated to find communities but, keep things nice and clean

lemmy , to nostupidquestions in Car Headlights - Why not red?

Hmmm for some reason it says my username is Lemmy on some instances I'll have to fix that

lemmy , to nostupidquestions in Car Headlights - Why not red?

As a colorblind person red light still works for me

lemmy , to nostupidquestions in Why is the most popular computer os closed source while the most popular mobile os is open source?

This isn't even remotely accurate. You can always use degoogled Android. There's Fdroid for most apps you really need and APK installs for any others

lemmy , to selfhosted in Introducing Crackpipe - your decentralized, self-hosted gaming solution!

They tried. It's just your standard case of everything is racist

lemmy , to selfhosted in Introducing Crackpipe - your decentralized, self-hosted gaming solution!

Crack pipe isn't racist. People of all Skin tones can enjoy that sweet sweet crack.

lemmy , to nostupidquestions in What is so great about Reddit/Lemmy apps?
