Took me a while because I've done ok and thought others must find things hard too. That didn't make sense but I assumed I was just shy, had some trauma etc., and felt bad for not being able to do stuff easily.

Realising I'm wired this way everything makes sense.

The UK is trialling a solution to the long wait and difficulty obtaining and assessments.

Rather than increase capacity they are implementing a multi-stage screening system which will make it far more onerous for those already overwhelmed and suffering.

With multi-year waits to proceed from one stage to the next, and one stage rejecting nearly nine out of ten applicants the system limits access for people who would benefit enormously if diagnosed.

Bumped into an acquaintance who I wondered might be in the spectrum today and she told me she has , but also that she didn't think this is on the spectrum.

Reading about it later it seems to me, so I'm wondering whether others here have a view on this, particularly anyone who also has misophonia.

I know this is up to her but interested in how others see it and why.

Having self dx'd early this year and started to recognise this in others I wonder about if and when to say anything.

In general I will only talk about my journey and let them realise or not, that this might be relevant them and worth looking into.

I'm late self diagnosed in my sixties.

I worry about how I'll cope when I get older and can't be self sufficient, have less control, have less space and can't keep my routines.

Do you think about that too? I'd love to connect with others here or in real life in UK.
