What is it about the text messages and emails sent by older people that make me feel like I'm having a stroke?

Maybe they're used to various shortcuts in their writing that they picked up before autocorrect became common, but these habits are too idiosyncratic for autocorrect to handle properly. However, that doesn't explain the emails I've had to decipher that were typed on desktop keyboards. Has anyone else younger than 45 or so felt similarly frustrated with geriatrics' messages?

So it’s not just me. I only used it for the occasional search result and those times so this didn’t fait affect me but this can only be good for Lemmy.

I was very disheartened to see people switch from Kijiji (Canada). However I thinj it depends on what you’re looking for and where you are. I’ve checked Marketplace with my partner’s account and at least for where I live and my hobby Kijiji is still used.

And even now that they kind of have a form of* threads they’re still hard to access and not indexable. Whenever someone recommends discord as a reddit alternative I wonder if they really understand why we’re seeking an alternative in the first place. I suspect many people who generally want to be kind and helpful have given up trying there. I know I certainly have. Look how active I am here, that’s a lot genuine engagement they’ve lost and I know I’m not the only one.
