Ending slavery surely helps the slaves by simply removing a bunch of their jobs.

@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Can we stop calling russian billionaires “oligarchs” but other billionaires as just “billionaires”? Both are oligarchs.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

As an outsider, these comments sound like blue QAnon 😂

bennieandthez ,

Unreal has similar business model, so Godot.

I guess i am late for shorting tesla stocks.

these statements are great for manipulating stock prices.

Elon Musk seen as working counter to U.S. interests in dealings with Russia, China (youtu.be)

Elon Musk's financial interests put him in a position of having his own personal foreign policy, but new reporting shows that whether it's manufacturing in China or the Starlink network being used in Ukraine, Musk’s decisions can run counter to stated US policy.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Uh they are not, thats why theyre literally called OLIGARCHIES.

And it’s not only Russia that is an oligarchy…

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

You live in a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, i.e. a liberal democracy where the bourgeoisie (owners of the means of production) dictate the laws.

State owned companies work for the interests of the ruling class, in this case the bourgeoisie, so you can bet it is subsidized by the people and the ruling class (and their businesses) benefit off it. (Socializing losses and privatizing profits)

If it was owned by say Elon Musk, it wouldn’t be any different for the regular working class people. Only the relations between the bourgeoisie may change.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Jeez i wonder why there was such a division in the first place.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Also the Koreans that previously collaborated with the japanese curiously joined the south. I wonder why…

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Interesting how you ignore how the US did not recognize the goverment installed by the people of korea (PRK), the people who fought for liberation against the japanese, and decided to establish a military junta with the koreans that collaborated with the japanese, who were hated by everyone for obvious reasons.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

You know how it goes, “scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds”.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

“context does not matter” is exactly what you’re saying but whatever it is obvious to me that you haven’t read more than the first paragraph of the wikkpedia article.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Bill gates is not curing polio, it’s the doctors and scientists that are doing it.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Also they just put money, they don’t put ANY actual work.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Billionaires don’t innovate, it’s the engineers/scientists/workers in their payroll.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

It boils down to abolishing private ownership of the means of production. The fruits of labour of society must belong to society, not just a handful of people that have been inheriting wealth generation after generation.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Tesla (which he did not start) sells luxury electric cars, exactly the opposite of “mainstream”.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Instead of tackling the systemic issues that cause the problems of gotham city (which he is directly responsible), he decides to beat people up. Kind of tells how shallow minded the writers are.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Lol whats next? Elon Musk caused the war.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Spoiler: they dont want the war to end.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

concentrating wealth and power on individuals is literally the point of private property 😅

Why is everyone so giddy about the flooding thay happened at burning man?

Social media seems to be laughing its ass off about this tragedy, is it because the folks at burning man are perceived as frivolous hippies or something? Everyone I’ve ever met who was a regular burning man attendee has been a solid human being with strong morals, personally and financially responsible, a career. Upstanding...

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

it’s just an us based festival, why do you make it sound as if its a larger than life event.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

completely agree with this take, also OP screams american excepcionalism.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

These solid human beings with strong morals, financially responsible with a career, upstanding members of society having their day ruined is not a tragedy? 😫

It’s “fallout in space” but without the stuff that makes fallout good.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Maybe because they are economically blockaded yk? 🤔

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

“fallout without the wacky/fun stuff” in space.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Outer worlds is closer to “fallout in space” than starfield is.

Starfield is fallout without the fun stuff, which is dissapointing tbh.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Oh you can bet he is gonna get ur tax dollars .

bennieandthez ,

No one likes mercenaries after all.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

This take perfectly embodies how libs only care about aesthetics.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Remember, libs dont know anything about the context pre-war. It was all Putins desire to conquer ukraine.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

The quote is from “inventing reality by michael parenti”. the cold war is an EXAMPLE, the authors POINT is that media will interpret literally ANY EVENT in a bad way to make enemies look morally inferior and bad.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Time for some self-reflection.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Nah connect the dots by yourself, you cant be this unironically oblivious.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Torrijos and Roldos instantly come to mind.

bennieandthez ,

Like clockwork!

@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

If tankies consistently disagree with you, you’re most definitely a nazi 🙄

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

And who is going to enforce these sanctions?

Because the capable ones to enforce these sanctions are the main culprits of the climate crisis and it would be incredibly convenient for them to use these laws to get even more ahead of underdeveloped nations.

Unless thats exactly what you want, keep the exploited poor and the exploiters rich. Think better.

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

A climate debt? You sound like a tankie!

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

By ‘ideologically’ opposed you mean you don’t like the products/services they provide? Lol

Get the bag, idk what you do but youre likely just a small cog anyways and getting paid less literally means your company is extracting more value from you.

Unless your job is literally producing some sort of hate propaganda (i.e. working for the daily wire) then yea dont do that.

State of gaming on linux?

I used linux in the past, both privately and work-related, but the last time was over 10 years ago, so I’m a bit out of touch. I am in need of a new PC, but it’ll be a good year before I have the funds, so for now I am making due with an i5 7500 and a gtx 1660. I do have 32 GB so there’s that. I finally feel confident...

bennieandthez ,
@bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml avatar

Most games work perfectly, it really is just the ‘live-service’ games that simply don’t work in Linux thanks to kernel-level shenanigans. If you plan to play games like Valorant/LoL/Genshin, it will be a nightmare and i don’t even recommend trying to make them work.

But then again, you can always have a separate SSD with Windows installed just to play those games. I’d honestly recommend you having Windows just to play games and Linux for everything else.
