@actuallyautistic Do any of y'all have EXTREME heat intolerance? It's like the older I get the more I can't put up with hot weather. I've always been very "hot-natured," prefer winter over summer, etc. but this year I think my intolerance has been the worst yet. Friends are telling me how it's peak summer weather (90 degrees is comfortable?!?) meanwhile I start sweating when it's 70+ degrees Fahrenheit outside. What gives?

@chevalier26 @actuallyautistic last year I nearly passed out, it was only 30°C...

Dear fellow @actuallyautistic people,

Can you relate? Sometimes there are upcoming events and I know they'll overwhelm me completely. I'd like to avoid them, but sometimes I don't dare to ask because I don't want to be the person that always asks for a special treatment (German: Extrawurst). I'll complain all the way, but I don't opt out.

I know I have to work on this. It's not about a solution.

Is it internalized ableism? Camouflaging? People pleasing? Insufficient coping at the event?

aevole ,
@aevole@piaille.fr avatar

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl @actuallyautistic I do that because I don't yet accept beeing autistic, I want to be able to attend those events so I force myself.

@adelinej @Sci_Fi_FanGirl @actuallyautistic I suffer a lot from the downsides and really struggle to find the upsides of my autism 😥

How to you manage to spend quality time with your neurotypical partner, without draining yourself and not turn into a freaking control person about « what and when » if what they like is spontaneity ?
