I just finished watching the first season of Geek Girl by autistic creator Holly Smale. 💛

Harriet knows she is different, but doesn't yet know the reason why...but we do. 😉

Fingers crossed Netflix has the smarts to quickly green light a season 2.

Do you have any clothing routines? I own eight gray plain t-shirts with no tags which I love. I often will just wear them over and over again.

This self-discovery journey has been mostly satisfying. However, sometimes one is not really sure what to think. Overcompensating in order not to appear selfish is to be very helpful. I've thought this is an important part about me. I like to help. Now I read that this might actually be a way of masking. I guess the important part is not to OVERcompensate. And to think about my wellbeing first. Ah well.

I remember when I first saw one of Monty Pythons sketches on, “How not to be seen.” I identified with it so much. I remember thinking that was my raison d’etre. Masking feels a lot like that to me.

I read about a new detailed map of the human brain. As expected, the "normal brains" were contrasted with "disordered" ones and how eventually they might learn "what's wrong" with them.

Autistic brains are just different, not "wrong".

There are studies that show that autistic people have lower average lifespans? Why? Because of cooccurring conditions, bullying leading to suicidal ideation, poor support systems and economic stability. This needs to change.

The Assembly is a new show in the UK, in which 35 autistic, neurodivergent and learning disabled people quiz Michael Sheen. It is an adaptation of a popular French show, Les Rencontres du Papotin.

There is one part of where a young autistic person named Leo struggles to tell Michael his question. For some of us, it can take time when communicating with others. Michael shows the correct response...patience.

It is estimated that approximately 70-95% of autistic people experience sensory processing challenges. For me personally, I was always hypersensitive to stuff, but others are hyposensitive and seek out sensory input. And of course many are a combination of both.
