I feel like Bernie was our shot at a new FDR… And the establishment was able to quash that. I hope we can still do it, but it feels like there’s very little hope for a non violent way to get to actual democracy

What if the “democracy” we think we have is actually just oligarchy putting on a show… And the only way to really get a democracy is if we fight for it, and Trump gets the fight going faster so we can get to democracy faster? Just a hypothetical, not advocating for this. Obviously a violent revolution would suck, especially considering the US was literally designed to make peaceful revolution relatively easy, but I think those designs have been crushed at this point… By the oligarchy

I generally don’t have any interest in music… I mean, is fine some of the time, but I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way for it. I also don’t think it should be allowed as “background noise” in public places. It can have profound effects on your mood without you even realizing it’s happening.

Ugh… There’s just no way a state like Louisiana has the mental health care apparatus needed for this. Obviously real mental health help is ideal, but I just don’t believe it’ll happen.

Absolute freedom would be the ability to do whatever one wants to do whenever one wants to do it. However, the laws of physics and biology get in the way pretty quickly. So that leaves us with absolute freedom within the laws of the universe. However, it’s only possible to have this absolute freedom so long as there is only 1 person in existence. As soon as you add a second person, both must agree to forgo the freedom to harm the other, or soon enough there will only be 1 or 0 people left.

In a society, the closest we can get to freedom is allowing people to do whatever they want as long as it doesn’t effect anyone else. Once it effects others, they should get a say in it, otherwise the person doing the stuff has more freedom than the people being effected by it. This is where we actually are.

This is why absolute freedom can never exist as long as there are at least 2 people in existence… Either they must both give up their freedom to harm the other, or soon there will only be 1 person left, maybe 0.

This is such a good example of the ratchet effect… Trump lowers tax from 35% to 21%, then Biden comes in and only brings it up to 28% solidifying that 21% as a minimum for big corps… Ratchet right, hold there until the next Republican lowers it more

Corporations should pay the whole bill for a functioning society every quarter… The people should get to decide what a functioning society entails… I don’t care of it’s 1% or 99% of corporate profits, or if it changes every quarter… No exceptions for parking your company in another country, you want to sell your shit in the US, you pay the bill
