I honestly don’t think that’s the case. There’s tons of right leaning and left leaning people that are bots. You can just never know. I think it comes down to the age range using this place and the culture using it. Reactionary people prefer sites like 4chan or the other online communities designed to cater to them. The age comes in because based on research the largest age demographic using Lemmy is between 25 and 35. This site is too underground to attract the middle aged and older cohort that are right wing. It’s also not hip enough to attract the under 20 crowd who make up the bulk of Steven Crowder, Ben Shapiro and Tim Pool viewers.

Hi. I am the mod who removed your initial post. Frankly, It didn’t fit the content of this sub. Allowing it to stay would set a bad precedent for future posts. There has to be quality control in a place. As Aer said below, we want to keep a light hearted atmosphere around here.

Positive momentum doesn’t factor for posts that do not fit. If anything, it only encourages sooner action because leaving it up will have more people making similar posts.

Twitter is going to lose money no matter what Musk does. The sooner it just dies and goes into insolvency, the sooner Musk will stop taking a loss in order to keep it operational. Even apart from the deal Musk has likely already lost hundreds of millions running twitter. Twitter dies and it’ll stop being a financial drain on him.

I think this really will be the straw that broke the camels back for a lot of people. I don’t think it will immediately kill twitter but it will have a lasting effect. And if not this I am sure he will come up with an even worse policy change within the next 2 months. Something like limiting it to only 10 tweets per day for unverified users.

That’s the thing that bugs me so much. Most movies have around 10 minutes of ads. That is ample time to promote some of the lesser known movies that company has made but instead we get ads for insurance companies pretending that they are green, banks gaslighting you into thinking they care about you, McDonalds trying to trick you into their food I synonymous with a happy family and Matt Damon pushing cryto currency on you. I would rather watch an ad for a good movie.
