Pressure canning food

So me and my dad were talking about pressure canning and how it’s very uncommon. I’ve never talked to anyone irl that pressure cans, maybe some water bath canning but that’s it. I wonder why it’s so uncommon? You can get a pressure canner for less than 150$ and it’s incredibly useful....

I only water bath can because pressure cookers and canners scare the shit out of me. This is a me problem. Also, if I were to sell my goods, I think the foods have to be like jams, jellies, fruit butters, all water bath stuff anyways!

Local gaming store. I joined one of the tabletop rpgs. We talked a lot after this. He had cats which endeared me to him. I met his cats. His cats liked me. He also had a trashcan in the bathroom so I knew he was smart. We’ve been together uhhhh 17 years this December I think.

I have! Can’t butcher things yet which I forgot and also forgot animal people have the food needs of their animal base so maybe I should have started with a goblin adventurer that needs no food or water instead of the eagle woman.

I still wish and hope we get goosemen someday.

I need to be a very naughty horrible goose stealing everyone’s items!

As the other has said, adventurer mode is very different. You control only yourself and a few others at most. You must worry about food and drink and sleep every day instead of it being every so often for dwarves. There is much less about what to do (currently, demigods/chosen will have more godly influence on them maybe?) so you make your own existence.

Oh, the homemade donuts, all 122 of them were well received! As well as the hamantaschen. But when you’re making a gross of them, it just takes a long time.

I like latkes, but it was one of them few holiday cooking things that I did not get pushed into doing as a kid (and now several decades later still do for the family)

Challah, hamantaschen, donuts…mostly all the dessert things, I guess. And the charoset! There’s more, but I forget until I get the call and start baking for her.

Any game I’ve played so much I can do it mindlessly is one I’ll use to destress generally. Specifically something like Wazhack or another roguelike where if I die oh well, back into it! Maybe something with no fail state like Heaven’s Vault instead.

Well, the city still expects lawns to be mowed even if you’re disabled here, so I’d assume they expect the same of snow. But we don’t get much snow since I’ve moved in with my husband who has cerebral palsy. With the lawn, they send a letter first saying fix it. You fix it, call them, and it’s done. I’d think the same with snow, assuming the snow stuck around so long they had time to send a letter.

I don’t think I can trust my cats with that power. Chubby cat might just ask for a super soft bed and for me to cuddle her more.

I’m 62 years old and I just heard about the Hanukkiah for the first time tonight on puppy dog pals. What the heck? How can I live my entire life and never have heard of this. I’ve been around plenty of Jewish people and we talked about Hanukkah plenty of times. I’ve known about the menorah. I’ve known about the dreidel....

I knew of it, but I also went to Hebrew High School once a week for like 6 years. Like CCD style, not full time high school, that was secular for me.

I like the word menorah more, so I use it more!

My girl cat loves to crawl under my blanket and curl up next to me for a time. Then she’ll leave after a bit and when she comes back, she’ll sleep next to my face. Sometimes she goes directly to sleeping next to my face. She’d never ask to drive the car though, the car is for humans to use to bring her items, why would she use it? No need to get her own items, we do it for her!

I’m Jewish and the first ones, from two who talked to me years ago, either goes

“All jews must return to Isreal so the end times can happen” (she then got worse and rude when I said no thanks, so I don’t know more than that) and the second was

“The end times will only happen when jews have a kingdom in Isreal and most jews return to the holy land for the last war”

They both claimed to like me being Jewish because there needed to be jews in order for the end times to happen and I just went back to stocking groceries and ignoring them mostly

A Christmas Story! It always runs 24/7 on some channel come the holidays. It’s also just one of my favorite movies. Nothing overstays, all the actors are great, the little daydream scenes, I love it all.

I bounced off Dwarf Fortress a lot over the years, even with the packs to help. Eventually I got the hang of Adventurer Mode and quite enjoyed it! Now I’m just waiting for that mode on the steam version!
