Wait, what accused action? I thought they didn’t even have an accused action.

I was wondering about the “I’m done” and I love it. When you’re satisfied with the game and don’t feel like you need to play any more.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

So, I actually do need to play to the credits ASAP for two reasons. First, coming back to a game is intimidating. So if I put a game down, I end up deliberating between restarting and trying to relearn the entire game from the last checkpoint. Usually I end up playing something else.

Second, I meander a lot. So even games I’m actively playing I try to stick to the plot so I don’t burn out playing side stuff. (It’s not always even side content. Sometimes it’s just dicking around.)

@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

First off, not a fan of ADL and equating anti-zionism with antisemitism.

Second, just want to call out my home state Arkansas for making it illegal to make mandatory implicit racism training. Like, you aren’t allowed to tell people they’re being racist. Ridiculous.

Third, fuck the ADL.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Isn’t that illegal? Isn’t that a HIPAA violation?

Edit: And it’s covered in the article. It requires a subpoena, but not a warranty unless lawmakers update the laws.

I’ve been pondering for a long time about how SCOTUS and more than 1/3 of the Senate could essentially take over the country over night. That case where they decided whether a state could overturn election results without federal interference gave me worry. But luckily most of them weren’t that radical. At least not right now.

Nice to see Rogue Legacy 2 and Theatrhythm get shoutouts. I don’t see those mentioned very often.

It’s interesting in the same way people pieced together a story for all of the Pixar movies. But they are just fan theories that are kinda interesting.

Kentucky woman sues state over abortion ban so she can terminate her pregnancy (www.kentucky.com)

A Kentucky woman Friday filed an emergency class-action lawsuit, asking a Jefferson County judge to allow her to terminate her pregnancy. It’s the first lawsuit of its kind in Kentucky since the state banned nearly all abortions in 2022 and one of the only times nationwide since before Roe v. Wade in 1973 that an adult woman...

Omegamanthethird ,

Pregnancy comes with medical risk to the mother. Restricting abortion access is a clear violation of the 14th amendment.

Abortion is healthcare.

Let’s just convict both Hunter and Donald for tax fraud, give them the same sentence, make them roomies, and everything. However long, I don’t care. Make everyone happy.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Isn’t it tax and child support evasion? Pretty vanilla, but it occasionally lands prison time.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, Wesley Snipes is exactly who I was thinking of.

I don’t think it’s up there with trafficking minors, I didn’t say it was. You said it was nothing unlawful, which isn’t true.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

You literally said he didn’t do anything unlawful. Also, that’s the only thing I commented on. Everything you’re saying about false equivalencies is just you talking to yourself.

“EXCEPT, what is the real issue with Hunter’s behavior?

Best I’ve been able to tell Hunter is guilty of being privileged and well off. Not really anything unlawful.”

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

You’re just all over the place with the legality aspect. Just make up your mind what you’re trying to say.

I think everyone here agrees with you on the rest. I don’t really care if he gets prison time, but whatever is dealt to him should be done to any other rich asshole (Trump) trying to do the exact same thing. And if he’s held accountable for this, others like Gaetz should 100% be held accountable.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I’m looking forward to jumping back in. Loved the story, loved the gameplay. I just hate having to wait so long after finishing a story to jump back in with new content.

I’ve heard this a million times. And it honestly sounds like the kind of thing an executive would blame to excuse bad sales.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

It kinda sounds like they wouldn’t have been canceled if he hadn’t made the effort. That’s no difference from any other debt forgiveness that’s within his power.

Trump says he'll be a dictator only 'on day one' if elected (www.rte.ie)

Donald Trump has said that he will not become a dictator if he becomes US president again except “on day one”, after warnings from Democrats and some Republicans that the US was in danger of becoming an autocracy if he wins the 2024 election. Fuck, well at least he’s honest on this statement

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

They literally had the chance to stop him during his second impeachment after the attempted insurrection. Anyone who didn’t do it then, sure as hell isn’t going to do anything now.

The last thing the GOP wants to do is piss off his supporters right before the next presidential election. The electoral college could have ousted him during the 2016 election (as people had floated around) too. There’s just not enough people are willing or have the desire to reject him. Many would love to have him as a dictator, they just need the right pieces in the SCOTUS to say it’s in the constitution.

He’s 100% going to be the nominee now. Even if he goes to jail, he’s still going to be the nominee. The time for anything different is LONG past.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I use wiki all the time to look up specific seasons for specific teams because it’s that thorough and has a lot more context than random statistics sites. It’s also a lot more consolidated and easier to find than it would be to find articles written about the same season for the same team.

Most "simulation" games aren't simulators

I was just browsing the Google Play Store and I am getting frustrated seeing games being tagged with the genre, but aren’t actually simulating anything. E.g. Idle Miner/Mining Tycoon (can’t remember name). Nothing in the game is accurate or even tries to represent real life. It even has cartoon graphics. Now I’m not...

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I HIGHLY recommend X if you like turn based combat. It’s my personal favorite of the series. The setting is chill beach vibes mostly, the context is pretty depressing, and there’s enough story hooks throughout the game to keep you on your toes the entire time.

XVI is pretty great if you like real time combat. If you like it at the beginning but think it’s too basic, keep playing. It gives you more to play with as you go. Great story as well. Most of the characters are really compelling.

XII is a fantastic middle ground as the combat is still then based, but you can move freely, and the gambit system is there if you want it (you can get as high level or deep as you want).

If you liked VII, try out Crisis Core. It’s the best thing to come from that world.

That kid that doodles is creepy. But deep fakes probably feel a lot closer to actual nudes.

Omegamanthethird ,

I’m at a total loss. There has been such a concerted effort to paint any resistance to the Gaza genocide as anti-Israel or antisemitic. Its honestly hard to tell if these types of people are totally delusional or if they’re doing it intentionally.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Did you play Final Fantasy XV? That game planned DLC from the start. It impacted the game heavily. Some of the DLC never even got made.

They said it wasn’t planned for XVI because it wasn’t planned at the time. But also to let people know that the base game wouldn’t have pieces missing from it. It’s truly a completely standalone experience and I believe that DLC was only an afterthought at that time.

But also, companies say all the time that they’re open to stuff, DLC, ports, sequels but nothing is planned yet. It’s really common. Sometimes they go do those things, sometimes they don’t. That’s what “not planned” means.

If you include all Republicans and only look at homophobia, it’s already at 60%. And those are the ones that will openly attest to it.

Now narrow that down to the most radical of them (Trump supporters) and include racists, sexist, xenophobes, Islamophobes, and include those who might still be closeted bigots.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I think I addressed that pretty well in my comment. But you can remove literally any and all of the additional qualifiers and the point is still valid. A majority of Republicans are openly homophobic. Everything else is just extra.

But also, people do use Islam as a justification to hate people. It’s not like being Muslim necessarily means you reinforce terrorism any more than being Christian necessarily reinforces terrorism. But being a Trump support DOES mean that you reinforce his actions.

School Hate Crime: Racist Kid Yells “N Word” While Attacking Black Girl, Breaks Her Nose And Hospitalizes Her. Black Girl Gets Suspended (kansascitydefender.com)

In a shocking, horrifying incident at Shawnee Mission East High School, a Black student was hospitalized after being attacked by a white male student. Despite being the victim, she faces suspension in a case highlighting systemic racism and administrative negligence.

Omegamanthethird ,

That or the bully isn’t impacted because they don’t give a shit about school to begin with. A suspension is just get out of school pass. Meanwhile the kid who cares about school is actually put behind on their schooling.

People have used the existence of the bunkers as evidence of a command post and ill intent. Clarifying that the bunkers were preexisting eliminates a lot of presumptions. Clarifying that Israel built them means that they know their existence isn’t nefarious in and of itself.

There’s also a difference between saying “getting a taste” and “getting a taste of your own…”.

One is just saying that you are experiencing what others have experienced, which is what she said.

The other is putting forward an accusation which she is obviously not doing in that statement.

Alliance Defending Freedom asks U.S. Supreme Court to intervene in Idaho abortion case (idahocapitalsun.com)

Basically both of you think the other one is trying to shift blame, when in actuality you’re trying to make sure both are blamed.

Sums up a lot of arguments over this war.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I think it being a biohazard is not the issue.

Also, if you equate a roommate’s brain matter to any other biohazard waste, you might be psychopathic. I don’t mean that as an insult. Just keep in mind that most people aren’t as apathetic about these things.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

It’s not the issue. As in the thing causing trauma. I didn’t say it wasn’t an issue. Seems like you’re focusing on the wrong part of the whole exchange.

As for being hyperbolic. I don’t think I am. EXTREME lack of empathy is an indicator of psychopathic tendencies. Although it really depends how you define the word.

@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Everyone was. You’d think this would be a no-brainer remake.

Final Fantasy XVI about 3 or 4 weeks ago. It is a very satisfying, increasingly fun, game. I love how the story was told and the progression of the combat system which continues to give you more options without getting more complicated. And it was actually a complete story unlike XV. I’d put it in the mid top half of Final Fantasy games I’ve played.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Tbh, I’ve worked with plenty of problematic people and where there’s smoke, there’s fire. There’s probably a multitude of other issues that they were already aware of or uncovered when they started paying more attention.

This is also pure conjecture. But I would be surprised if there weren’t more obviously fireable offenses.

Omegamanthethird ,

Republicans have tried demonizing him as woke trying to indoctrinate our children. So unfortunately unlikely.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Whether woke is good or bad depends entirely on how it’s defined. I generally see it as an antithesis to ignorance. So a combination of both educated and rational thinking.

Sometimes it describes things that are educated and irrational thinking, which is ironically what the right does a lot. Basically fear mongering.

Then you just use the two interchangeably to make it sound like rational observations are radical.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Oh I know. But even then they’re intentionally inconsistent so the good and bad gets mixed in together.

Is it pro action, even if they disagree with the extreme response?

Is it a thinly veiled dogwhistle support for genocide by say pray for Israel?

Right to exist?

Some mix of the above?
