Marketing email's subject made me think my card got hacked (lemmy.world)

A hostel company I stayed with a while back emailed me with the subject: “Your booking is confirmed!”. This made me frantically check all my accounts since I hadn’t booked any hostels recently. I was super concerned until I opened the email and saw… it was a stupid marketing email…...

One of my previous jobs had an employee exercise room. Some people used it and management didn’t like that so they said we’re not allowed to use it during our shift and only after hours. It was a government position so we weren’t allowed to be in the building before or after our shift.

These places only use them to advertise to new employees how “friendly” they are.

Yes. Not sure what the other person is on about. Hot water can have more sugar dissolved in it. When it cools it crystalizes but only if the saturation level is higher than what the water can hold. It’s how rock candy is made. This is like basic chemistry.

Advertisers have been doing stuff like this since forever to get you to look. Some ads will subtly add extra limbs that you won’t notice by glancing at it but your brain notices something is off and will make you want to look closer

There’s a roadside attraction I drove past recently in the northern part of Michigan called trump land. Had signs and shrines on both sides of the road. I truly do not understand how people can be that batshit insane and still be allowed in civilized society.

I used to browse it about 15-20 years ago.It used to be a good place to learn tricks about all sorts of electronics. I’m not sure exactly what happened but it was like a switch flipped and they got awful almost overnight. Probably bought out.

I struggle with learning how to program because I keep losing focus on what the code I’m writing does. I’m not diagnosed but it sure sounds like ADHD to me.
