How do y'all deal with sleep states on modern laptops?

Most very recent laptops no longer support S3 sleep which used to be the default for a long time. On my old laptop it allowed me to just close the lid in the evening and open it again in the morning, and it would only loose a negligible amount of charge during that time....

For some reason, sleep mode doesn't even work on my laptop cause it'll never resume, it seems to treat any call to sleep as a call to shutdown. I've always had to just save my work and poweroff if i was going anywhere without a charger. I had a little bit of luck with TLP until I had a microcode update and that somehow broke it even worse.

I think it has to do with the fact that we are 98° because we create that heat as a by product of living, and there has to be a way for that created heat to be released and moderated.

The hotter it is outside, the harder it is to keep your body cool and prevent overheating. When it's cold, your body has to make more heat energy to keep itself from freezing or slowing down so much you can't operate.

btrfs and nvme

So, recently, I bought an nvme ssd to replace the very old ssd I have on my laptop. I don’t know what the non-nvme is called. It shows as “sda” on the system. Anyway, doubled the storage. The new drive is an nvme WD black SN770. I have the same one running just fine on an optiplex dell mini running endeavourOS. Zero...

I've been using a btrfs and nvme combo for almost 2 years now without any issues like that, the main difference being that I have a relatively large swap partition and am on arch linux' zen kernel

I'm using the Artemis app for kbin right now. They have it all ready to ship they just need to tie some stuff together before the main instance kbin.social is upgraded to support the api. The public beta for artemis just came out and has the api features enabled through the "test" instance artemis.camp, which still federates with everyone else. With the pace being made they should be done in the next week or two
