Force to carry the baby to 33 weeks when she knew months earlier that the condition was always fatal.

Had to have a closed casket because the baby was never going to be able to have a fully formed skull.

Maltodextrin is a plant derived carb that’s used to thicken foods. It’s not a sugar. Also, Original Pringles, at least the in the US, don’t have citric acid.

Also worth noting, the reason Pringles have emulsifiers and thickeners is because the potatoes are mashed up and poured into a little mould. They need to be thickened and well mixed so they stay together when fried.

There isn’t anything too crazy in there. I’ve used these ingredients at home. They’re easy to get and can come from plants.

Pretzels that is. Right?

Ghostalmedia OP ,

I do love a good regular pretzel, but IMHO, American hard pretzels are a pretty awesome snack. But yeah, they’re more like an Italian breadstick.

And also, Americans took hard breadsticks and made a soft variant of them. Us Americans like to iterate on the foods our great grandparents brought over to the colonies.

It kind of depends on the state you go to. America is pretty damn big, and different regions are known for different things. Food varies a lot across the US, just as it varies across Europe.

I’m in California’s San Francisco Bay Area. And we’re bread snobs over here. I’m confident that California can throw down if brought into a bread fight.

I have friends and family in Germany. My wife used to be married to German and used to live in Germany, so not having shit brea in the house is a priority. ;) Cool thing about German bread is that it’s super varied. Lots of different things that are all amazing.

That said, I’ll gladly bring a loaf of San Francisco sourdough to a bread fight. That bread fucks.

Unrelated note, I’m pretty happy to be off Reddit and chatting with you about bread on Lemmy. I’d offer to send you some local bread, but I know it just wouldn’t be the same after being in a plastic bag for a week on a plane. 😆

Yeah, my dog never used to care, then one year my ex-con redneck neighbor fired illegal mortars over the our, in a red flag fire zone, for house for 12 hours straight.

When I asked him to chill out, he threatened to kill me and said I hated freedom. Then then got in a physical fight with cops that night. Best neighbor ever.

Fans of the movie might argue that it functions solely as comedic relief in an otherwise dramatic action movie; however, a 2001 study conducted through University of Texas proves otherwise: A large majority of American audiences believed it to be either a fully accurate representation of Indian cuisine, or an exaggeration of it, when it’s actually neither — everything about the scene is fictional.

The big user experience problem is everyone is getting funneled into Lemmy.world and Lemmy.ml, and they can’t scare fast enough.

But Lemmy is federated. So signup for a smaller instance. You’ll still be able to subscribe and post to communities on other instances.

Ghostalmedia ,
@Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world avatar

Fair point. Tye small one’s Re being hugged to death and aren’t letting any more people in, so people are gravitating towards the juggernauts, and the juggernauts are collapsing under their weight.

Next couple weeks should be interesting

Ghostalmedia ,
@Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world avatar

All in all, they have some of the biggest communities for gay folks, Trans folks, and other minority groups. Lots of trolls from large open instances were shit posting lots of hateful crap in those communities.

The Lemmy’s mod tools are still kind of janky and they couldn’t keep pace with the toxic trolling, so they made the call to defederate from instances like Lemmy.world temporarily, until some new mod tools get built.

All the admins from the defederated instances get it and they all appear to be on the same page.

That said, users got pissed because beehaw has one of the best tech communities. So now people on Lemmy.world don’t have their posts / comments show up in those communities.

Basically, they had two shitty options, and they went with protecting the vulnerable minority.

It’s temporary.

I’ll bet money that multiple people will successfully monetize parts of it.

At the very least, my guess is some small shops will build businesses around apps that offer enhanced users experiences, but for fees. I’d be willing to pay for premium experiences that were well maintained.

Ghostalmedia ,
@Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world avatar

Time will tell. People seem to be pretty down to support devs and studios that are using the money to enhance the user experience and pay the developers fairly. Apollo, Twitterific, Tweetbot, etc. lots of good examples of this.

Ghostalmedia OP ,
@Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world avatar

Kind of interesting.

When CA banned affirmative action in the 90s, the US was unintentionally given a massive control cohort that could be used to quantify how fairly or unfairly affirmative action impacted kids that were black, white, asian, hispanic, etc.
