As a Class Action lawsuit, it is a couple ounces of beer across every person who has ordered a 24oz. Could be pretty lucrative

I was permitted to close my account…without any hassle. Sign into my.roku.com and delete account is as the bottom. Selecting “don’t want to use this anymore” gives you a box with 255 charachter limit (because of course they don’t want to hear a real reason) and then when you hit send you just get “Thank you, account closed, if you come back you will need a new account”

Surprisingly, suspiciously, painless.

It’s not terribly far off. The barebones brutalist style where the chairs are attached to the floor, hard plastic molded tabletops. Lack of items that can be moved or taken completely conveys “do your business and leave”. Obviously a screen that size that wouldn’t be that accessible in a prison, but it only adds the harsh nature and lack of human touch of the room.

7/10 definetly reminiscent of chow hall.

“Brutalist buildings are characterised by minimalist constructions that showcase the bare building materials and structural elements over decorative design.”

I would welcome expanding my knowledge but what style do you consider buildings of few decorative designs other than their harsh geometric edges and shapes? The inner walls of a prison are often the outer wall. Just straight rows of cinderblock. Inside and outside, the structures lack other architechtural stylings because it creates hiding places or is viewed as extra work/cost during construction.Everything ends in a corner or an edge - no soft edges. As far as my experiences are concerned, that lines up pretty well unless you would rather use the word “spartan” in terms of how little decoration the state puts up.

Exusia ,
@Exusia@lemmy.world avatar

No, I see your point - brutalism is making an interesting structure and shaping internal spaces using building materials as a limitation.

Where prisons are function-over-form and may appear to meet the style - it is merely coincidental and is not usually artistic expressionism but rather necessity to perform a task.

McShungles is just ultramodern design that comes from a Corp cheaping out

This has been disproven and was called out at the time of the increase. Games cost less to develop now than ever. Microtransactions and recurrent subscription transaction1s like battlepasses mean a shit game gets to live longer than it would deserve. People have careers in the field and languages common to the industry - this isn’t a “new and groundbreaking” industry - its one of the largest on the planet.

Studios are absolutely not passing any of that $10 to lower level staff. It was to see if the market would bear it, and no other reason - and corporate defenders came out of the woodwork to pretend BILLION dollar corporations need more money. If videogames were too expensive to make, they’d not be spending so much, now would they?

What does this even mean, I can’t “follow” users on Jerboa. Is this some shit zuck added to his specific Threads then wanks about how he has all the followers?

Shitposts mocking the event are how I found out about the Ever Given and the sinking of Moskva.

Memes do not suffer the same bias as news sources. (Different problems easily remedied)

Who knows maybe I will be swinging it around my house when I’m alone before the other half gets home. Thats the part where it needs to not have a weird weight distribution or the blade come loose from the hilt.

Not looking for Netflix and chill but you wanna play Helldivers? We’ve got a bunch of people together that seem to play semi-regularly rn and if you wanted to make friends hanging out is the first step

Exusia ,
@Exusia@lemmy.world avatar

Fair enough, I also host dnd with some friends if you want to listen in, or if not don’t feel pressured.

But for all of us after high school, any new hobby will mean meeting established friend groups and will always be difficult, I understand the pain. I have faith in you finding new friends.

Won’t someone think of the poor billionaires!

Exusia ,

Agreed. If a game like zelda totk can run on the switch there’s plenty of life left and we don’t need a switch 2.

Mathematically, I can see how it would always turn into a risk-reward analysis showing nuking the enemy first is always a winning move that provides safety and security for your new empire.

But how else will a soccer mom driving her 2 precious children in nothing less than an 8 seater see where she’s going in a well lit city??

She NEEDED that upgraded suspension and if her headlamps don’t compete with Star Destroyer turbolasers she won’t be able to go anywhere!

No, but a popular internet theory has his name meaning “spotted one” and whether or not it’s actually entomologically true, is always a fun thought. To think a god of the underworld played fetch with spot, the goodest multi-headed boi

I know this one! It was mentioned specifically as Port Arthur, a contention of the russo-japanese war, at the turn of the 1900s. Specifically would call your attention to the part where they lost their main fleet, and called upon the Baltic Fleet (yes hoho THAT baltic) that made a trip around Africa in what became known as the Voyage of the Damned for all of the absolute chicanery and Lethal stupidity that took place on that nearly 9 month trip that culminated in catastrophic losses for the russians, and is one of the major pressures on Tzar Nicholas II to get involved in ww1.

Anyway that’s one of the parts of the story as of how we’re all in this fucking mess.

Cant tell if someone was being funny and labeled a dump with the sign, of if at one point there was an internet cafe. Cuz it’s clearly marked in 2 areas to get your attention

And so it was internet browsing then, all these years later, it’s a metaphor for internet browsing today.

easily close to a decade to replace.

For a nation with the money and manpower to actually build them. Not ones that can only afford to upcycle 5 fossils each decade with a new gun/missile silo and (maybe) coat of paint.

They might have had a second aircraft carrier by now if they’d finished the one left in Ukraine at the collapse in 91. But for better or worse they sold the hulk (and the plans) to China in '99. It’s possible the Kuznetsov is in such a state because the sold the only copy of the plans

Hey real quick though, because this dude has been defending his or this schools descicion since last September

Wheres the School Board this superintendant answers to? This school is having an ongoing issue of permitting a violation of federal law (discrimination of a protected class) and allowing violations of state law (CROWN act) to the degree it is in national news for the second time. This same school is why there’s a CROWN act to be violated. Either the board is so massively incompetent to miss this and are not management material, or they are actively encouraging it. I wish I had such a level of job security jesus fucking christ. Fucking rich people get all the goddamn handouts.

Ubisoft Exec Says Gamers Need to Get 'Comfortable' Not Owning Their Games for Subscriptions to Take Off (www.ign.com)

Ubisoft Exec Says Gamers Need to Get ‘Comfortable’ Not Owning Their Games for Subscriptions to Take Off::An executive at Assassin’s Creed maker Ubisoft has said gamers will need to get “comfortable” not owning their games before video game subscriptions truly take off.

Exusia ,
@Exusia@lemmy.world avatar

Things do not exist in a bubble. If gaming can get away with taking your ownership of games, it will come to another industry next. Games are one of the most profitable industries in the world now, as much as people like to treat it as a “thing children do” - it is actively participating in writing the playbooks of other industries. People need to be made aware of the scummy shit the industry has gotten up to without any of the proper regulations to curb it.

“Gaming journalism” did its best to not mention it every time something with kotick came up. Blizzard would release shit about games as a smokescreen. A scandal where Kotick groped a guy in front of an elevator? NEW OVERWATCH 2 DETAILS ANNOUNCED!

His shit is well documented.

Exusia , (edited )
@Exusia@lemmy.world avatar

Just a shout out to Stephanie Sterling for covering Koticks fuckery since the beginning (on youtube) And Jason Schrier for publishing it (kotaku, now bloomberg, and freelance), even as it has fallen on deaf ears for the better part of a decade. Activision Blizzard has been rife with frat boy culture that kotick promotes would have been a bloody nose on the new face Microsoft wants to put on the company.
