Well, this is perfect timing for my hangover on Monday!

Copythis ,

Seriously.

I have to go into nursing homes all the time. The ladies at them are the thirstiest women I’ve ever met.

…but ya know, a hole is a hole 🤷

Copythis ,

That’s where they get practice 😉

And don’t get me started on when they remove the dentures!

Copythis ,

This is sad! I have so many great memories on Omegle.

I have a logitech g920 race wheel. I used to set up my phone as a Webcam and use OBS studio to make it look like I was a YouTuber and I’d go on there and stream BeamNG.

I met people from all over the world, and had some super deep conversations with people. It was like free therapy.

I found out my wife was pregnant about a week before shit really hit the fan. We were completely prepared, had money saved up and everything.

The covid hit. We both lost our jobs, and unemployment wasn’t nearly enough to cover the bills. I couldn’t find another job anywhere.

We lost everything. Both of my cars got repoed, I get eviction notices every single month because rent is behind. We pulled out credit cards for food because we don’t qualify for assistance.

Slowly, we both got jobs, I got lucky and jumped right back into my career that I love, and we’re still trying to get on our feet. The credit cards are killing us.

Oh, and when our daughter was born, she had to be life flown to another city because she almost passed away (long story). 150k bill. After insurance.

Copythis ,

I would say yes, but I am drowning in debt now. Always a month behind which brings late fees which makes things harder to keep up on.

Also, pg&e burnt the town next to us entirely down (today is the anniversary!) and their solution to dealing with all the lawsuits, was to raise everyones utility bills. My bill was $50 to $100 before the fire. Last month it was $400. I haven’t been running heat or AC and the app says my energy usage is consistent for my home size.

It’s expensive to be poor.

Which Life Pro Tip disappointed you?

For me it was “buy high quality pillow” because you sleep for one thrid of a day etc. I needed a new pillow anyway so I came to the store and bought the best they had. And it was … ok. Like it’s a fine pillow but my sleeping haven’t improved really, it’s basically the same. So I was disapointed :(...

Copythis ,

I like how this turned into a pillow post.

Pillow fight?

Copythis ,

It’s $5.99 where I’m at.

We’re winning!

I just spit out my water all over!

He just posted a video to his YouTube channel. He’s back. And it’s more disturbing than before.

Copythis ,

I recently found out an old buddy is a famous YouTuber with 5 million followers.

My kids were watching him, and I said “that’s weird, we used to hang out in high school!” Their minds were blown. He’s gotta be rolling in the big bucks.

Copythis ,

As a kid, I always took everything apart, because I can’t help myself and I need to know how everything works. I still do it today (it’s my job now!)

I’m 4th grade, I was taking apart my mechanical pencil and putting it back together, and my teacher took it, snapped it in half and under) threw it away.

She told me I’m no longer allowed to use mechanical pencils, I can only use wooden ones.

Since I didn’t have a wooden one with me, I was sent to the hall the rest of class.

I never let it stop me. I started working at a print shop, and the huge copier (xerox 1000i) kept jamming. I’m talking huge jams, this thing is about as long as 2 Mazda miatas.

The fuser belt tore on me at like 4 in the morning during an emergency print job, and the technician wouldn’t be there until about noon, so I broke into his parts cabinet and figured out how to replace the belt. I had it up and running about an hour later. The fuser on that machine is about as big as a Brother desktop multifunctional copier.

He did come in, and scolded me for repairing it, but was fascinated I did it (it’s a 2 week training in New York just to work on those).

I ended up bugging all the techs to hire me and eventually, they did! So now I work on photocopiers, and I absolutely love it.

Copythis ,

Can I just cash out my karma? I need money lol

Copythis ,

The solution is to have two phones! One for web cam, one for memes.

Copythis ,

I’m so frustrated paying $950 a month. My kid just got old enough to go into a lower tier, but right after that, they raised the prices across the board so I still pay the same…

If they have like 30 kids at about $950 each, where is all of that money going? All of the ladies that work there make minimum wage.

Copythis ,

I stay as long as possible because I don’t want to go home to my abusive wife.

Sometimes I can’t sleep on Sundays because I’m so excited to go to work the next day.

Copythis ,

I need help.

Copythis , (edited )

I absolutely love spending time with my kids, don’t get me wrong.

They’re seeing the abuse and it’s terrifying. Luckily she sleeps in until about 2pm on weekends, so I use those mornings (including this morning) to take them to the park and spend time with them.

I’ve been trying to leave but she keeps threatening to take them away. I don’t know what to do. I’m going to call a divorce lawyer on Monday.

I do absolutely everything for my kids. I cook dinner every night, I bathe them every night, I get them ready and take them to school every morning. I am a man so I’m terrified the court will rule in her favor and she’ll take them away.

At night I’m reminded of how horrible of a person and father I am. I’m so tired of it.

Edit: I also absolutely love my job. I work on photocopiers. I feel like I help the community and make people happy. My job almost feels like a hobby to me. I am high functioning autistic and my obsession is anything mechanical, so it’s the perfect job for me.

Just become republican!

All of a sudden, everything bad is a hoax.

Problem solved.

Silicon Valley elites revealed as buyers of $800m of land to build utopian city (www.theguardian.com)

After weeks of local speculation, the purchasers of 55,000 acres of northern California land have been revealed. The group Flannery Associates – backed by a cohort of Silicon Valley investors – has quietly purchased $800m worth of agricultural and empty land, the New York Times has reported. Their goal is to build a utopian...

Are we talking San Francisco northern California?

Or actual northern California? (above Sacramento)

Okay good… Rich people keep moving to my area where most people aren’t as well off.

They keep coming into our small towns and open up little Vinyard places. It’s like that episode with SodoSopa, but in real life.

It’s cool to see, but it makes the cost of living impossible!

Copythis ,

I absolutely love working on photocopiers, even though it’s my job.

My friends say I’m a hoot in the discord!

Copythis ,

The bigger ones transport multiple sheets at once! The ones I work on can have up to 5 sheets running through the copier at once! It’s really cool.

When you’re printing 11x17 duplex (2 sided) it’ll slide the paper under the machine whole it’s rotating it. You can’t see it, but I know it’s happening.

Copythis ,

It’s probably the feed tires. You can get false jams if they’re slipping.

Copythis ,

Thanks!

That’s basically how I got into the industry actually. Every problem is like a big puzzle I get to solve, and I get to help people, so it feels good at the end of the day

Toner has such a unique smell to it.

The only way I can describe it is that it smells silly.

Copythis ,

I work on office photocopiers for a living.

The office copiers are awesome! When you print in black and white, most models will physically disengage the colors and only print in black and white to save toner and wear on the drums/transfer assembly.

Most desktop laser copiers do the same thing.

Laser copiers don’t use ink, they use toner which is a powder instead of a liquid. They’re temperature sensitive, but there aren’t nozzles to get clogged.

Copythis ,

I always recommend Brother because of repairability, I’m not just saying it because everyone does. The fuser in your copier heats up and cools down all the time and will fail eventually. Same with the transfer belt, drums, and feed tires. Luckily, Brother clearly labels everything and they’re all easy to replace.

Counter that with HP. Depending on the model, (I’m looking at you M477/457) when your fuser fails step one is to take just about the whole machine apart. Some consumer grade Canon copiers are HP is disguise! (it’s actually the other way around)

My opinion here is not to be confused with office copiers, with the exception of HP, they can all fall off a cliff. Their laptops and desktops can go too, the world would be a better place.
