It might be worth a try to get into tea!

(Loose leaf tea, not tea bags, the quality is usually better and you get a greater selection and much more diversity.)

There are so many different flavours and types, find out which ones you like.

If it helps, I actually like fruity beer, something sweet but with still some bitterness and that complex flavor I can’t describe that most good beers have.

Talk to the tea seller, they should be able to help you find something. It might also be a good idea to start with a small quantity of different tea types, just to see which suits you best (but keep in mind that there might still be a lot of variety for each type): black/white/green/fruit/herbal/…

Personally on a hot day, I like cold brewed black tea with some fruity additions (orange/peach/bergamot/roses or whatever mix I find that I haven’t tried yet). I don’t add sugar (sometimes a bit of honey, but that only works when hot brewing) because that way I smell the light bitterness of the black tea better, which I like. It sounds like that could also be your thing. Another combination I frequently do is Rooibos + Hibiscus (mixing it myself, about 1/3 or less, by weight, of Hibiscus).

Experiment with cold brewing, or just regular brewing then icing. And in winter you might drink it hot.

Keep in mind, the taste is not at all like beer, but as written above it can have the same properties.

Don’t stop when you don’t like your first one, try another one, or try to prepare it differently.

Is it possible via the API to get the date/time when a subscription was added? If so, then a two-way sync would be possible, else I think only a one-way sync can be realised reliably, right?

We had pretty much the same experience. The guy was even kinda pissed off when I said the same could be done in Python too without much additional effort. So our whole class also used the “free student version” 🏴‍☠️

In my opinion it makes a huge difference between pirating for education compared to pirating for commercial use.

In another course (statistics if I remember correctly) by another teacher, we actually had to interpret and write MATLAB code on paper, so it was absolutely necessary to be familiar with it even though it was not the actual topic of the course and it was never mentioned as a necessary tool for the course or whole study. There were only books listed that we had to get beforehand, which is pretty normal. Imo they should at least have listed it there, or provided it to the students.

Mine are staying delete now after initially a few popping back up.

Something like this happened for me too, but I believe these were comments that I didn’t yet delete, they just weren’t visible anymore. The older ones started to pop up once there was new space for them after deleting the newer ones. (On your profile not all comments you ever made are visible, only the newest/top/most-controversial ones, depending on what you sort for).

For example in my profile my very first post was visible, but none of the comments I made there. Before deleting the posts I went through each one and deleted my comments that way. There probably still are many comments from me laying around undeleted…

It’s actually a copy of the original room, and there are invisible goblins synchronising all objects in the rooms so that it looks like the same room. They are also moving mannequins so that they match the movements of all the people in the other rooms.

To us it looks and feels like the same room with the same objecs and same people, so it doesn’t really matter.

But sometimes an admin might order that the goblins must not sync one specific room anymore. Then you start to notice differences depending on which door (=room) you actually use.

I’m not trying to make it sound bad. Else I’d have used something like “maliciously” or whatever. I’m just trying say that sometimes you might actually see differences (e.g. beehaw.org communities on lemmy.world after defederation), and this is only possible because there are multiple rooms and not just one (with this analogy).

You can also patch Reddit is Fun and other 3rd party apps with ReVanced. But it’s not really worth it, Reddit still has too many bots and reposts, ReVanced can’t fix that. Also sooner than later this method won’t work either anymore.
