Shredded cheese substitutes aren’t bad, especially if you plan on just melting it anyway. I’m not sure i would be willing to use vegan cheese on a cheese and cracker plate, but plenty of the stuff out there is suitable for melting on top of a sandwich, or in potatoes.

If stealing $10,000 from a bank was only punishable by a $500, it would be foolish not to rob the bank since you will make $9,500 in profit, writing the $500 off as an expense alongside gas money and the gun used used to hold up the teller.

Williams & Sinoma made over $7billion in profits last year. This fine is absolutely inconsequential to them and will do nothing to discourage doing it again since the punishment is trivial to the reward.

I’m a bit torn, because I think that horrific atrocities should be seen by the public for them to face the reality of the world we live in. The full color combat footage played on the nightly news during the 60’s and 70’s played a huge role in turning public support against the war. The horrors going in in places like Gaza, Ukraine, Myanmar, Yeman and Sudan shouldn’t be hidden from our “sensible” Western eyes when it is daily life for millions across the globe.

Snuff films like 3 Guys, 1 Hammer probably don’t belong on Twitter, but I don’t know where the line should be drawn. Should footage of JFK’s assassination be censored and hidden from public view? What about the attempt on Regan? Or the killing of George Floyd? What about footage of US sponsored drone strikes on civilians?

What this study describes is an algae cell incorporating a nitrogen fixing bacteria into it’s cellular structure, which as far as we can tell has only happened twice in the history of life on earth: when a large bacteria incorporated a smaller one, thus creating eularyotic cells with mitochondria (which was our last common ancestor with plants) and when another eularyotic cell absorbed a photosynthetic bacteria, creating plant chloroplasts.

Even i grew up that way 20 years ago. My parents are super chill and outgoing so they are always friends with everyone in the neighborhood. They knew who we liked to play with and where we likely were so they only had to make a couple calls to get us home in an emergency. Even when i finally got a cell phone and a car o can’t think of too many times my parents had to call to see where i was and demand me to come home.

Yeah, I-10 goes straight across the western most to Eastern most part of Texas and is almost 900 miles long. The average US state is larger than the average European country if you only count Russia west of the Urals. Europeans think of the US as a country similar to the UK or Germany when theu really need to think of it more like the EU and each state it’s own country. New York City to Los Angeles is almost exactly the same distance as Moscow to Portugal. Seattle to Miami is like London to Bagdad.

It doesn’t change the fact that the US is more analogous to a super nation organization like the EU than any particular European state. Texas and California aren’t conducting their own foreign diplomacy like the Spain or France are, but their internal laws, taxation, bureaucracies are wildly different, with each state essentially out for itself with the federal government intervening in extreme cases. Ohio and Michigan have GDP’s that are equivalent to Austria and Switzerland. Comparing Texas to Bavaria is as ridiculous as comparing New York City to Singapore.

The inherent issue with a missle defense system is that they work on paper if you don’t look at any outside context. Obviously no missle defense system is perfect, so they can’t really protect you from a first strike. But they’re great at protecting you from a retaliatory strike after you have destroyed most of your enemy’s military infrastructure.

So if my enemy now has the means to wipe out my ability to assure mutual destruction, i have two options: hope that they dont hit me with a first strike, or launch my own first strike, overwhelming their missle defense system, and accept the consequences that come from that.
