It reminds me of Charlie the Unicorn which has a similar cadence

ABC123itsEASY ,

Tolerance is a social contract not a right. If you are tolerant, you earn tolerance for yourself. If you are intolerant, you don’t deserve tolerance yourself. It’s really not that complicated imo. I don’t feel the need to be tolerant of racist, bigoted people.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Yea uh is this actually equivalent? In all of those other cases you’re checking if a is null and in the last case my understanding is it is checking to see if a is falsely. In the case that a is 0, or undefined, or an empty array or any other kind of non null falsey value, then the behavior would be different.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Ah interesting one of those cases where this could be one of a few languages. I was reading it as JS.

Pretty sure WinSCP is the best SCP/FTP client on any platform.

So? Are you saying you disagree with the premise of the article because chatgpt taught you how to bake? Professional tech work isn’t really relatable to baking at home.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Professional tech work at home is professional tech work. I think to anyone who actually have careers in technology wouldn’t see a distinction here. Programming is not the same as systems architecture, systems management etc. Programming is simply one of the tools you use as a software engineer. I do not think it’s too broad to be meaningless and I think comparing learning to bake to software engineering is reductive and shows a lack of understanding about the requirements of the field.

ABC123itsEASY ,

You’re splitting hairs here I think it’s fair to make the statement that tech industry workers perform professional tech work. I mean it’s cool that you learned to bake but what makes you think this means you know what the skill requirements are for tech workers and how well chatgpt can cover for gaps in those skills? Your dismissive ‘meh’ says to me ‘yea but I learned how to bake with chatgpt so I disagree with this statement’.

If stability and reliability are paramount to you, you might consider getting the older version. At this point the hardware has been well tested and I feel like you might be beta testing less on a gen 1 vs a gen 2. That being said my personal experience is that I’ve never felt like a beta tester for valve and I’m sure you’ll be happy with either. Cheers!

It’s likely because some light fixtures that emit a ton of UV light also look “cool” and get used in the wrong setting. They’re supposed to be for stuff like disinfection. Looks like the bulbs outlining the dj both could be the issue. It wouldn’t be any of the professional fixtures. (Pic in comments because I don’t...

Yea I honestly can’t believe people who think of themselves as decent would delight like this in the suffering of others? You realize voicing opinions like this takes you right out of the ‘right side of the argument’ and outs you as a pretty much an awful person? Do better, people.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Shouldn’t you pretty much always do this when coming to a stop in a manual??

ABC123itsEASY ,

You’re mistakening the wide range of solutions and tooling for complexity.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Nah this isn’t the way, friend. Instead of adding a bunch of useless anys all over the place, start typing in one part of the application and exclude the rest using a path pattern. Or simply allow .js and only change the extension for files you’ve typed. Doing this is just wasting time and creating false assurances of type safety.
It’s not that hard to define correct, meaningful types. Often vscode already has implicitly determined them for you; just mouseover the variable.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Is your point that you’re more likely to experience security vulnerabilities when using FOSS? Cause past a certain point of development that’s not generally the case.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Haha reminds me of a lanky white guy I knew named Will Smith.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Eh not really if you’re actually using mesh networked smart home devices that run on zigbee/thread/wave/matter or whatever you’re using some kind of controller with one of those radios in it. Using your phone as the only controller basically means you’d only be able to control/talk to those devices when your phone is on and at home, so forget any kind of automations if you’re not around. If you already have a controller, it’s most certainly networked so having a matter radio in your phone is basically pointless.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Eh I don’t think being verified means all that much because in my experience there are games that are verified that just don’t play well on a deck because the game doesn’t lend itself well to deck controls and there are others where the control factors keeping them from being verified are trivial but not addressable given valves strict definitions of ‘verified’. Example: Noita sucks on the deck and it’s verified. It’s like 10x more difficult to aim on the deck relative to a M+K setup and makes it feel clumsy as hell. Meanwhile, Against the Storm, Soulstone Survivors, Dwarf Fortress, and Civilization all have great experiences on the deck and I’ve happily played multiple hours of each chilling on my couch without a thought about the controls and none are verified.

ABC123itsEASY ,

I can’t wait to watch some freaky YouTube doc about this in a couple months

ABC123itsEASY ,

I mean, American butter or European?

ABC123itsEASY ,

Yea essentially the requirements to call a product ‘butter’ are stricter in Europe and American butter can have a higher water content / lower fat content than European butter. Check out this video for more info: youtu.be/gBfFpSMvstU

If it’s A, then it figures to me that the blue portal would enact some force on the structure on which it’s placed when the tied up people plop out

ABC123itsEASY ,

Basically the transfer function on an erc721 interface (nft) cannot have enforced royalty payment otherwise it wouldn’t support people transferring the token outside of a sale. Theoretically you could use some kind of interface standard or write up a different contract where users are forced to pay a royalty on any kind of transfer but then there wouldn’t be a way to transfer it without paying the royalty and basically no nft trading platforms would support it because under the hood you have to transfer them the token so they can sell it on your behalf once a buyer is found.

FYI not trying to shill funny pictures but I do know a bit of solidity so maybe someone here is actually curious about the limitation.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Nah the actual limitation is that providing people a way to transfer the token without paying a royalty is essential if you want to give people the option to freely transfer it between their wallets without selling it and paying a royalty. You could write a smart contract that does enforce this but then you would lose the ability to have that free transfer.

For me the old dance video I couldn’t get enough of back in the day was of these dudes doing the robot at Kollaboration 2001 that capped off with this dude doing some sick liquified robot shit that still melts my mind to this day. Thought this was that video initially so had to go look it up for you folks.

Android’s unknown tracker alerts are starting to go live (www.androidpolice.com)

The Unknown tracker alerts detection system went live for one of our tipsters on a Pixel phone running Android 14 beta with Play services 23.26.55. With Google saying the rollout commenced at the end of July, unknown tracker alerts should go live for more users in the next few days and weeks....

TikTok has been pushing Chinese propaganda to millions of users in Europe: analysis (nypost.com)

TikTok has been pushing Chinese propaganda to millions of users in Europe: analysis::More than 1,000 ads from Chinese state media outlets have run on European users’ TikTok feeds since October 2022, according to the platform’s latest ad library update that was analyzed by Forbes.

ABC123itsEASY ,

You’re not necessarily wrong in all respects, but this comment is peak whataboutism. Western tiktok is targeted mostly at children and young adults who are obviously highly impressionable, so I would argue that regardless of whats happening on any other social media platform, this is unwanted and harmful and therefore shouldn’t be accepted.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Yea when people organize an attempted coup on Chinese tiktok, your point may hold more water. Not saying it’s a good thing, but it’s clear that Facebook et al’s primary motive is not promoting nationalistic goals; domestically or aboard.

ABC123itsEASY ,

Van life folks are at serious risk of break-ins since often they’ve got half of their lives in their vehicles. If this discourages even a single prowler from assessing their vehicle, I’d argue it’s well worth it.
That being said this isn’t a typical van size for such a purpose but I could see a solo van lifer in there.
